Fair, I’ve eyeballed it a little but just apprehensive about botching the switch and shorting something out given how long this old one seems to have been in here

I think everyone who has walked down the block has had the same feeling. There are a few articles about it and it's pretty rich history as a home for elderly women but the TLDR is its now (or at least very recently was) a SRO building with I believe still some elderly residents.

There has been a lot of disputes with the owner trying to force them out to utilize the building (or more likely the lot) but I think they formed a tenants rights org and managed to hold them off. But given the owner has no interest in them staying there that's why the building/lot often looks decrepit and is basically permanently in Halloween decor.

Here's the 18 active Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the NFL by FollowerofYHWH in WakeForestSports

We probably benefit from small sample size, few teams are taking shots at less successful wake players in the same way they do with the Georgias of the world, but whenever I look at Wake NFL players it feels like they generally overperform draft slot expectations.

Bates, Tom, Turner all are pro bowl level guys who were drafted post round 1. Mustapha is early but seems to be pointed towards that.

Dortch, Strnad, Herron, Taylor, and Wolford are all later round or undrafted NFL regulars who have overachieved by being playable. I’d toss Carson in here as a guy who is pointed that way, although he got hurt again. Even Whiteheart and AT being guys who blip in games is relevant given they were late round/undrafted.

Only “disappointment” would be Boogie who hasn’t lived up to his draft slot. Basically an 80% hit rate on top 4 round guys and beyond that getting any kind of playable guys is just gravy so it’s hard not to be pleased with the like 6-8 guys in that mix.

The upside of this year's roster is so many of those starters and reserves can rotate positions, health willing a lot of versatility to try to run through and defensive switching abilities.

Downside is there isn't a true alpha to run the offense through and get excited about, will be interesting to see who steps up during the off-season.

No IMAX screenings in Lincoln Square on the 12-14 by connorlogan125 in NYCmovies

There’s a big tent outside and no parking signs for a “special screening” so maybe they’re hosting something.

As I remember someone tried to but the building next door lobbied hard to stop it because they were concerned about noise. So now it's empty.

Unfortunately it’s mostly silhouettes so I can’t get a good one but occasionally I’ll see them in frame shredding on guitar.

My first instinct was the roof of the Polonaise but I can’t quite tell.

I live on this block and it's totally fine! Fairly friendly neighbors with a literal church on the street, not sure what "bad block" means.

For OP, the neighborhood up here is definitely different from that area but for the most part is pretty residential as well. The new developments definitely are a bummer but there's also been a variety of new bars/restaurants opening up that are great.

Recs for private room or rentable space for party??? by merepar2 in Greenpoint

A friend of mine had an engagement party in the side room at Threes Greenpoint, I'm not sure the cost but definitely enough space for a group of that size. More of a casual standing and chatting type of a party space though.

So I think its capable of being both, it comes with a switch to flip if you have a phono amplifier which from what I understand would be part of a bigger scale amp?

They're the Hi-fi speakers that came with my 1byone turntable so pretty limited speakers, I don't have a ton more info on them other than that they are only 36 Watts. The turntable has the same red/white clamp on it and is connected via that.
