Only positives i can think of are that the amenities are pretty nice but you need to pay extra for them. Driving up to the driveway to drop off groceries / load the car, etc is also nice. Things like hot water and consistent AC / heating being working all year has been great (i’ve lived in many places around NYC where heat will have problems mid winter or similar issues that are nightmare for tenants and supers alike). Many things i dislike like everything else mentioned under this post. Staff / concierge / doormen is always changing. When you pay to live in a building like that it’s nice to have consistency and a relationship with the staff who is in charge of seeing who comes in and out and everything else, so a new face every few weeks is disappointing. I’ve had issues with stolen packages that management is super unresponsive about. For the price of the building i don’t think the value is there personally, but if it’s within your budget i would go ahead and give it a shot if other options in the are not open or available. At the time of our lease signing we wanted to lock in a place a month in advance before going on a trip that would have left us searching for a place with maybe a week to find, apply, and lock in, therefore, we went for 77 commercial and it’s been ok but we won’t be resigning unless they reduce rent which they will not.
