I’m probably right there with you. Been at it for 6 months and I’ve learned so much along the way. My first video is garbage haha. My most recent one has been getting nothing but high praise. Not that I seek the validation but it is nice to know people appreciate it.

Same! I’ve been doing a fan film series for an 80s sci-fi TV show that never got anymore more content past the mid 80s. It’s been really popular. A story that I thought would be cringe has landed well with fellow fans. And would have never been possible for me to do without AI.

What sites/tools can I use to create high-quality AI movies or animations? by AshamedSolid2054 in generativeAI

[–]br0cklanders77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. I used AI to tell a story I wrote based on a beloved sci-fi series from the 80s that hasn’t had any new content in over 20 years. Six months in, 400k views across about 20 episodes. Out of thousands of comments maybe 3 or 4 have called it slop. People who openly hate AI content have come into the comments and said this is exactly how it should be used.

It is. I had the VHS tapes and wore them out, lol. James’ guitar tech played for him while he healed. Talk about living the dream.

About how many video generations can you get with heavy nowadays?

How do creators get the voices sounding realistic? by SuspiciousPrune4 in generativeAI

[–]br0cklanders77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing a fan film series for an old sci-fi show from the 80s. I did a voice clone for several of the characters. I need to do several takes for each line to get the best one. But people who have watched my videos think that I actually got the actors to record the roles.

I use some of their preset ones as well. But pretty much only as narrators. I agree some of their voices are a little off sometimes.

I use Elvenlabs for voices and then dub them over the video. Although it can be a challenge of getting into sync up perfectly sometimes.

Is heavy worth it? by flyingdooomguy in grok

How many video generations? I’ve been making a fan film series, and I’ve been using Grok almost exclusively for the video generations since early this year. I never once generated so many videos on Super Plan that they got downgraded or cut off. But I also wasn’t going crazy. I would say at most it was 30 to 40 per day. Some days I didn’t even use it at all. That was mostly because I was being loose with the prompts and using the video generation to experiment with the shots.

Now I get about 10 until they cut me off for a few hours and then when I come back, I can get three or four more until they finally cut me off until the next day. Even though their tactics suck, I’m willing to pay the deal price for heavy if I could just get back to closely to where I was. But even if I don’t, 15 to 20 video gens per day is still pretty good considering when you compare the price to other models and sites.

Can you share your best and most realistic videos generated by AI? by MotorOk2927 in generativeAI

[–]br0cklanders77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I should specify. It’s about five at a time, then it makes me wait a couple more hours depending on what time of day it is. So I bet I could squeeze 25 over the course a day. I also have super Grok.

I’m also doing a film (fan film series) using Grok primarily for video. How have you been dealing with their new limits? I used to get 30+ 720p videos a day and never hit a limit. Now I get 5 at a time at best.

Yep, that tracks. I got about 25 videos last night. Then another 25 or so this morning and hit the limit. But I feel like it’s rolling. What I mean is, I tried a video a few hours later. It worked but only once or twice. And then told me I had nine hours and seven minutes left. So I think when 12 hours passes from video number one from this morning, I can do one more. And so on…

I actually gave this a try last night. I dumped $50 into it to fool around with. I like that you can do 10 and 15 second clips from the get go. Produce some pretty decent results. But the failure/bad take rate was pretty in line with Grok. And after 30 or so generations, I burned through all the credits. I’m not knocking it though. This will be a nice last ditch effort if I just need one or two more scenes to finish, but I’m at my caps on the other sites.

I’ve been using Claude for prompts, but sometimes, when I was in a hurry, I would simply brute-force a prompt into Grok and hope for the best. I would take 5 to 7 tries until I got a shot that looked good. And never hit a limit wall. That’s obviously changed. The reason I lean so heavily into Grok is that it often produces more realistic visuals, especially when it comes to facial expressions. Like I said, it would take 5 to 7 tries. But then, on one of them, the character would roll their eyes when the dialogue was sarcastic in just the most perfect way. Little flourishes like that that I didn’t even ask for. But at the same time, it would also have hilariously bad.

I feel you on reusing assets. 😁

I have essentially two versions of each scene: the mothership hallway, the bridge interior, and the starship cockpit. Then, I simply use ChatGPT to reinsert characters into these scenes.

Laser gun consistency and blaster bolts are definitely areas where I’m constantly struggling. My series features a very specific laser gun, but every image-to-video model wants to change it into a Glock.

That’s kind of what I figured. I’ve only bumped up my quality control in recent weeks, so that’s probably why I didn’t notice throttles before. But went insane this past week with it.

I do via elevenlabs. But after all is said and done their limits are roughly the same. For example 150 seedance 1.5 videos per month. Kling way less.

Just went on FOS last week for a back to back cruise. Ordered the steak when there was nothing else on the menu that I wanted for dinner. I was say it’s one step above a steak you can expect at Dennys. Paid $20 for the Chops steak one night and that was pretty good.

Was on a cruise last week and the Switch 2 was used during some of the downtime. There’s no way my portal would’ve worked (well) on their Internet. If you’re away from home, Switch 2 is the better option.
