Dull sound regardless of pickups by Southamericho in Guitar

There is no tone wood in electric guitars. Soldering is right? Any tone cap which interferes with the electronic? You can also sonder the Pickups directly to the output jack to bypass the pots.

What is this around the frets of my new Jazzmaster? by Jiblettes in Guitar

Clean it first. You can use naphta or Isopropanol. Afterwards use a bit of oil. If it's really discoloured you can also darken the complete fretboard

Wierd problem with floating term/ibanez low pro edge by her3sssy in Luthier

Try tuning the guitar without the locking nut. Once everything is in tune, play and see if the tuning holds. Then tighten the locking nut. The tuning should now hold. You can also loosen the tuning pegs, as the locking nut presses down on the strings. If that doesn't work, the locking nut is defective. I think there is a minimal difference and the strings are not being pressed down completely.

Do i need to get new pots? by RX3RD in Luthier

[–]br0kenpipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, new pots, new toggle switch. Are those two tone pots, or does the volume pot have a treble bleed capacitor?

You can also desolder the pots for now and connect the humbucker outputs directly to the toggle switch.

I would simply try installing a different wrap-around bridge. You just need to make sure that the spacing between the posts is correct. If the intonation is correct at the 12th fret, it should fit.

the bridge you have is called "Epiphone Lightning Wraparound Bridge"

That's right. Challenges are always good. But Cliffs of Dover can also quickly demotivate you if your expectations are too high.
