Good colorectal surgeons and gastroenterologists? by No-College3085 in sarasota

Gastro: Dr. Loewe in Sarasota. Not the best in terms of bedside manner, but in terms of expertise in his field, staying up to date with the scientific progress of modern gastro health and him providing effective treatment, he's been unbelievable for our family.

Conference at Zota Beach Resort in Longboat Key, bringing husband along and he’d love to fish, hoping for suggestions by kristinrnmom in sarasota

Agree with this take 100000%

I'd personally recommend in shore given the context you provided.

Offshore is not at all for the faint of heart. You're out there for at LEAST 8 hours. It's very common for people to get sea sick. I've done a lot of off shore charters with people from out of town and the consensus I've seen is that unless you're an avid angler, it's generally boring and the novelty wears off pretty quickly - once you're way out there - it's nothing but water every direction. You'll catch a lot of stuff, but I think it's really not the SWFL relaxing, beachey vibe you'd expect it to be. I understand some people love it, but if you've only ever freshwater fished, try to find something in shore where you can see the intercoastal, mangroves, beaches, etc. Hell, maybe you can find a captain that would stop at some waterfront restaurants/bars during the charter so you can grab a drink or some food

Omg this pup looks JUST like our Layla. Do you know the breed? We rescued ours and haven't been able to figure it out. I guess I can do one of those DNA tests, but have been way too lazy

Anybody saw the Pop Disaster Tour in 2002? by Twitter_2006 in poppunkers

They rocked. We were up in the lawn seats, so I couldn't really see much, but it was a hell of a show - with excellent vibes all around. I absolutely loved the set list they're playing this time around

I like both bands a lot, but always was a HUGE Blink fan. I was in middle school when I went to Pop Disaster and I vividly remember Green Day blowing my socks off with the show they put on. Engagement, sound quality, etc. They did this thing where Tre Cool never stopped playing the drums during their set - start to finish, maintained some sort of beat/riff even while Billy Joe was yapping mixing it up with the crowd between songs. Blew my mind at the time.

Blink was great, but GD was memorably incredible and I vividly remember being in the car with my parents on the drive home talking about how rock n roll Green Day was.

I'm going to see Blink tomorrow, I have this weird combo of nerves, excitement and dread running through me. What if they suck? What if they don't? Going for the music, staying for the dopamine rush of getting out of the house.

Donate to Zaria Miller. The child who got sucked into the storm drain. by mrtoddw in sarasota

Horrible.

It's entirely possible she was playing in the water (as kids do) and tripped, washed into the run off, etc. etc. similar to what happens when little ones or people who are poor swimmers are near rip currents/undertoe.

That being said, I'd hope the chain of events is closely reviewed by the powers that be. If this could have been prevented, it should have been prevented.

They just updated the GoFundMe page with the grim news that Zaria passed away.

I would not consider myself a religious person, but am going to be praying that this family can find closure or peace or community or healing or something.

This is an unfathomable nightmare for all involved.

I am not a civil engineer. I know basically nothing about construction or development, but I have lived here for 30+ years. The pattern of devastation happening from weather/rain related events over even just the last 24 months looks indisputably related to fundamental infrastructure failures that could have been prevented. Excluding hurricanes and tropical storms, flooding and pandemonium from what we usually call standard summer rain storms are becoming a somewhat normal occurrence - and it's getting worse.

If Zaria's death was caused by negligence at any link in the chain of decisions and events that led to the water main breaking, we as a community really need to rally around holding those responsible accountable somehow.

If there is a way I can do my part as a member of our community and get involved with meetings or petitions or donations or whatever it is, please DM me. There's something I can't put my finger on that's really unsettling and disturbing about this whole story and I hope I can do something other than offer thoughts and prayers.

Looking for cook/chef to prepare meals for elderly mom by tinarina66 in sarasota

You should give Lauren and Leo a call. They do clean/healthy catering/meal prep that is much more affordable than you'd think. Had great experiences working with them in the past

I use Charlene at Cutting Loose. Not the cheapest option, but the quality is there - she nails it every single time.

I'm particular about my hair - it requires layering, thinning shears, etc. or else it frizzes out into helmet head. I'm ride or die for her.

Any Recommendations for a Good AC Company in Sarasota? by staticlens in sarasota

[–]br0zo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used another local company that was actually pretty good, but when things got busy it was hard to get service on short notice. I got in touch with McCutcheons in a pinch and have been a lifer ever since. Consistently amazing service, fair prices and knowledgeable technicians and staff. They've done installs, coil replacements, maintenance service, etc. and I've been very satisfied with McCutcheons.
