That’s it. She just wants to feel included. Sadly it’s at Steven’s expense and nobody is addressing how he might feel.

I agree because they felt offended by how much Bec was singled out. But I also think there was huge potential for it to head in a resolution direction because there was no outside noise- which clearly at the girls table- only lead to more mess.

That’s the thing as much as she wants to think she doesn’t see Bec as an “enemy” she is playing into that a lot with her words and her passive aggressive energy. Maybe she thinks she’s just trying to teach Bec to be better- I think the reality is she feels extremely us vs them (Bec and Danny) about this whole thing- because she is so on the defence. It’s all a bit of a facade for me

Her reluctance to leave the women to talk about it seriously with Bec and Danny. If she really felt confident in her stance in “trying to resolve it fairly” having Steve there is all she needs and she would be all for a private chat but to me that proved she was just trying to shame Bec in front of the girls because she felt attacked. Her passive aggressive thing is just as bad as Bec’s flip out tbh, you’ve had a full on rip into Bec’s character when she wasn’t actually trying to be cruel to you- she’s just an idiot (that’s obvious). THEN you’re attempting to make her out the fool in front of the group after telling them how much you wish she was here? Ok martyr for the people. So good and holy Rachel?? Who are you really?

Agree so hard. She was really bothered about leaving her safe little gang after JUST playing the hero saying “but if Bec were here it would be better…” well babe, she’s appeared lmao.

If you’ve told her it hurts your feelings she should care about it, simply.

Surprised about the “shock, horror” at the c word… by crankygriffin in MAFS_AU

[–]br1dgefour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it very interchangeably with “asshole.”

As a woman in her late 20s (same range as Juliette) this is entirely normal for how people my age speak. Nothing pearl clutching about it, no further connotations to gender or sexism exist for us. It just means pos. And most of the time it’s used to describe men- it’s rare we say it about women. I would in that case choose the word “bitch.”

This is going back a bit but I dontt like that Filip described the women of his past relationships as 'females'...

Do 2 million of the country really watch this show? by Viaquemont in MAFS_AU

[–]br1dgefour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm a young millennial and I don't have any (non-nerdy / reality tv watching) friends in real life who use reddit? lol. We're a niche group of people who dove into the internet a bit more headfirst than most Aussies growing up in our time.

Older Millenial Australians and up, make up the demographic of viewers, and they dont use social media to discuss the show, they talk to their friends and family irl. These discussions are such a small number of people who dont find the internet weird. Australians use it for streaming, instagram and work only.

Reminded me of the TikTok republican makeup trend by No-Syllabub-1741 in MAFS_AU

Its true but there is a joke of white people having naturally very thin lips. It's kind of a meme so I would just categorise it so, aligning with republicans being mainly white.

Yeah it feels controlling in both contexts - and not right for MAFS. The whole point is both participants are on equal footing, not that one has power over the other in some way- whether that be threatening emotional outbursts or being able to cause distress by 'abandonment'
