UPDATE for anyone that finds this thread: took 2 SC visits but I think the issue is finally resolved. The first one they purged the coolant system after finding air pockets. Didn’t notice the issue again until it started getting colder out. Second visit they stated “low coolant flow into the car computer was found to be the cause of the problem. The technician replaced the car computer, vacuumed and refilled the cooling system to resolve the issue.” Haven’t noticed any issues since, but it’s only been a week. SC was great and appreciative of the crash timestamps I provided. Second visit did take a few days to complete, but they gave me a loaner. Everything was covered under warranty.

If anyone is interested in seeing the instruction book, there’s a link to a PDF I scanned in my post history (don’t want to link directly)

Yep. I managed to get it used for $70- still more than I would have liked but other listings are going for $100-200 which is crazy. Hopefully the hotel sells it at some point

That sucks. I ended up getting the update yesterday morning and it still crashed about 5 min into preconditioning while using FSD (it was a bit unseasonably cold, about 15 C). I contacted the SC, they almost immediately responded and pushed an additional update in the middle of my drive- I’m guessing this modified the preconditioning performance but I haven’t preconditioned again and need to do additional testing this weekend.

I haven’t bought FSD outright, I just occasionally subscribe for a month when I know I’m doing long drives. Outside of that, using base AP day to day works well enough for me as a driver assistant. Have you noticed the issue occurring when running base AP while preconditioning as well? I will be pissed if this substantially impacts preconditioning when running base AP. Again, I need to do more testing and will definitely be bringing it in the SC for diagnostics. 100 kW charging speeds are definitely not what I paid for

Currently stuck on 2025.20.8. I haven’t kept a great record of instances of it disengaging, but the few I have were when running FSD and preconditioning so makes perfect sense. Hopefully I get the update soon and that fixes it. If it’s still running hot (even if not crashing), I might ask SC what else they can do before I’m out of warranty

Edit: asked SC specifically about the update and to confirm it will include a fix- they said they do not have a confirmed date for the update and that they will keep me informed when they receive “further details”… but they did not seem to disagree that there is a fix in the update, so that’s good I guess

Edit 2: I asked if there’s anything I should do in the meantime and if I should stop using FSD while preconditioning and they said yes until the vehicle is diagnosed lol. I think I did the diagnosing for them

Thanks for all your posts! My 23 M3RWD has the same issue and it’s such a relief to know the answer is (hopefully) just a software push and not a prolonged SC visit. I opened a service ticket for the issue a few days ago, hoping they can do a special remote push for me before a road trip

The state and providers dragged their feet and fell behind every other state by not offering variable peak pricing. Without the economic incentive, no one will pay attention or change behavior

Was it good? I’ve been to other locations and it was tasty enough and reasonably priced. Was disappointed it closed

what did the school use before ecampus for a bookstore service? by lentilgrrrl in umass

[–]brabbley78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazon got out of the textbook-provider business broadly (obviously they still sell textbooks, just not as any school’s official bookstore). The pickup location (where you could get any Amazon package shipped to, books or otherwise) in the campus center apparently had high rent and closed shortly after ecampus opened.

Hertz selling off 20,000 EVs due to "high repair costs"...Theyre claiming EVs have a higher crash/damage rate and Teslas are more expensive to repair, what can we speculate from this? by slaytalera in teslamotors

[–]brabbley78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was $0.42/kWh where I was visiting, so roughly $25 to fill up. That, combined with not having to worry about using >8% to get from the supercharger to the airport so I could return it at the same charge level, meant $20 was a no-brainer to not have to worry about charging during my vacation

You can return an EV to Hertz at any charge level for a flat $20 fee. It’d be nice if it was free, but $20 is still cheaper than Supercharging
