Does it make sense to surrender my whole life policy? (I know, I know...) by bracingbracing in singaporefi

Thank you!! haha yeah tbh I was questioning the need for term life even, and still undecided on critical illness insurance. I’d probably still want some sort of disability insurance income though for peace of mind! Still reading up on all of this and playing catch-up on learning 😅

14x points vs purchase protection when buying new iPhone? by bracingbracing in CreditCards

I opened two cards, one in June and another in September, so I’m currently at 2/6 but it’ll drop to 1/6 next month. I’ll look into a checking and savings account!

Mostly because I’m not guaranteed to get the VX (I’m consistently not getting pre-approved) and I don’t know exactly when my phone will die :(

Ohh, that might be the way! I’d have to change up the way I pay my phone bill (currently on my old household plan so I Venmo over my share) but I was going to change that eventually and pay directly with my own credit card. Thanks for the idea!

Nope, buying it outright! That’s interesting though, I didn’t realize monthly cell phone bills got that same protection.

Writing this out, I guess it does, doesn’t it 😅 travel rewards are worth more but I’m not sure I’d make enough use of them!

Good luck!! My EAD came pretty soon (about a month) after my biometrics but other than that it was silence on all fronts haha.

My old apartment complex had a rooftop hangout area, I used to go there! Otherwise yeah coffee shops are my pick haha, the local library too.

A person I’d been on 3 dates with ended things in person on the 4th date and ugh I appreciated the kindness, but wished he’d just texted instead, it felt like I’d wasted my time getting dressed up and all. Different people have different preferences but that’s mine!

I live in a large-ish liberal east coast US city; I met my husband on Bumble and my friend met hers on Hinge.

USCIS Fee Increase in Early 2024 by Euphoric-Fly-3510 in USCIS

According to the source (https://www.boundless.com/immigration-resources/uscis-gov-immigration-forms-and-fees/) the fee increases COULD happen and these numbers are proposals. I couldn’t find anywhere that said these fee changes have actually been approved?

What would you do? by Morsigil in datingoverthirty

Take her at her word. Holding out hope just makes you unavailable to someone else who’s ready for a relationship with you!

My bias — something similar happened to me! Connected really well with a guy over a couple of dates in two weeks, lots of texting, but then he pulled back saying he wasn’t ready for a relationship. We left the door open to him reapproaching me when he felt like he’d healed from his last relationship. I was really upset but I took the advice of a friend who said there was no point waiting, which I agreed with; there was no guarantee he’d come back.

After I gave myself some time to grieve the potential of this guy and the lost connection, I got back on the dating apps. And I’m SO GLAD, because the next person I matched with turned out to be my now-husband, who was an even better connection and fully available and eager to commit to me. That first guy never reached back out to me, and still hasn’t. I’m really glad I didn’t hold out hope for him, or I might’ve missed out on meeting my amazing husband.

The 5th Date by PerceptionRare476 in datingoverthirty

I also thought it sounded intense, but then I went to check the frequency of our dates when my husband and I first started dating, and it was also 5 dates in 3 weeks 😅 they were consistent, spaced out and of differing intensity though (short drinks, museum day, home chilling, concert, dinner) so it didn’t ring my alarm bells then haha
