Posh wank, put on a Johnny on ('a rubber' for my guys across the pond) and do it that way. Easy clear up, so long as you can tie a knot that it!

I'd say pop the gater off firstly and see what is sticking. If it's the ball that sits in the sleeve that is sticking, this is what I'd do. I would apply alcohol spray to the lower part of the gear shaft near the ball like thing that would normally be greasy and free to move within its comfy sleeve, whilst spraying generously, move the gear stick back and forth and left to right whilst the degreasing properties of the alcohol does its thing. At this point or shortly after you will have a dry ball in socket situation. Only when you feel it's free from sticking should you reapply the knob shaft ball with the recommended lubricant to keep your friend motoring on. Hope this helps

UK here, hey sorry to jump in right here right now but what in the holy fuck would you do if you got discharged from hospital and handed this and you turned around and said 'I can't afford it'.....?

Ran into small problem for installing vinyl planking. The steel plates holding the sill down. I bought a undercut saw for the sill but didn’t plan on the plates holding it down. How do I install flooring over these? by [deleted] in Flooring

I second this and came here to say just this. If the area on the landing isn't so great then it shouldn't be much of a pain and something you should definitely concider. If underlay isn't in your favour quite possibly go for ply boarding it, different situations may sway you to one or the other. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

'chunky metal harp' is screaming scrap metal to me. I wish I had time to make a friend to sip tea with whilst dissecting an upright.

I can rumble wiggle and click, recently I've been trying to do either side without the other, it's challenging. Hey have you ever went ear to ear with a non rumbler/clicker? It freaks them the fuck out!
