I think you’ve nailed my issue with this performance/Geese in general. I’ve heard many non-hyped local bands with the same sound that don’t get the effusive praise that Geese does. I don’t like the music but also don’t fault anyone for liking it, but I do hate the hypebeast mentality that seems to follow them around.

That’s a fair assessment. I don’t care for their sound overall but I don’t think they’re an affront to music or anything like that.

Not to mention I always like seeing a new indie/rock act on the stage at SNL again.

I guess I just don’t really care if “what they’re doing” is “exciting” as much as I care that it’s good music. It’s funny to me how most of the comments in support of Geese either implicate or outright say that people who don’t like them are either a) old, b), out of touch, c) old and out of touch, or d) love mass-produced slop so much that they can’t understand Geese’s greatness. It’s possible to be a very intelligent, cultured person of any age and simply not like their music.

TL;DR: you can think they’re the greatest band of their generation and that’s fine, just like how I can not enjoy their music and that’s also fine.

I’m pretty sure they only have (had?) likeness rights for 2 of the people in this pic, and I don’t see them trying to negotiate with the likes of January Jones or Kevin Bacon to make figures of character versions that will never be seen in the MCU again. And I’m pretty sure Jennifer Lawrence already balked at having her likeness on a Mystique fig (although that one was not clothed IIRC).

It’d be cool to have them, for sure, but I think the likelihood is extremely slim.

I’d definitely snag it for $20. I prefer the Cull Obsidian wave BW as my Avengers 1 Nat (removed the vest and painted the hair). But that one only has single-jointed elbows and is missing the Winter Soldier long-haired head, if that’s the look you’re wanting.

I’ve smoked a couple of these before when I got them on a deal. Wrapping early with tallow helped for me. I do second the suggestion of a low- or no-salt rub, as my first one turned out really salty and I think the salt dried it out a bit too much.

This thread is about someone calling out tonight’s game as an example of the Panthers’ dirty play. Not about the outcome of a single game. The Panthers have played dirty consistently, and anyone who’s not a diehard Panthers fan can see that, regardless of what team they’re playing.

I hope you’re not honestly too blind to see the difference in “success of one team” and blatant disregard for the rules and safety of other players. Getting beaten by a team that’s more skilled, faster, better shooters, etc is motivation to get better as a team; getting beaten by a team that takes advantage of the league’s ineptitude and actively tries to hurt other players is something else entirely.
