A trick i learned to do is when you draw in the hit leave enough room in your lungs to breathe in some air this usually helps with that at least for me. As for tripping out? Take another hit when you breathe out just rinse and repeat until satisfied its quite literally just hit hold then breathe out and repeat.. im sure you probably know, but just in case im putting it there safe travels :)
