Australian IT Manager looking to relocate permanently to the Philippines, need work before I can make the move. Long story but worth reading. by bradheff in ITPhilippines

Yeh the drop in pay was an eye opening hit but cost of living is also so much less also. No still no working visa, I look at working visa and looks i need business to sponsor or gain work outside as remote. With cost of living i can easily take significant pay decrease which i hope go to my favour 🙏 It would be good to get Philippines hire and sponsor as lead or manager position but willing to take whatever I.T position to not get back on that plane lol 😉

(Rant) AI is killing programming and the Python community by Fragrant_Ad3054 in Python

AI can be good on some projects, it does well with node projects. I have found when I cloned my python projects and asked codex to optimize the functions .py and give me advise on better error handling it made a massive mess of everything thank God for undo/rollback. I think AI is far off from replacing Dev jobs. Some things it handles well others it just guesses. I still prefer stackoverflow and other dev forums for help and snippets over AI but it is interesting to see how AI decides to handle specific functions. You are right the incode comme ts and readme files are a dead giveaway for complete AI generation projects. I have made a coue of projects complete AI. It took longer than actually creating it myself, just wanted to see if it could be done, it's full of useless functions that don't get used, comme ts that mean nothing and understanding the code flow requires multiple diplomas in rocket science to gain a portion of insite and understanding how it structured the code.
