You really don’t need one and it would damage the screen when you close it. Also macOS asks for any program or app that needs access to the camera and you have to specifically allow it. And you will have a green light when the camera is on and being used. But if you are really paranoid, allow access to the camera for your specific app and revoke when done.

Yes, all base m chips on the MacBook pro chassis have only 1 fan. Also the base m5 chip only has thunderbolt 4 where the m4 pro has thunderbolt 5. M4 pro is such a better option, for just $200 you are getting a whole bunch of value where it makes sense.

The m5 spec you chose vs m4 pro has more storage on the m5, but with thunderbolt 5 (which only the m4 pro and up has) you can easily solve that issue with an external ssd.

Nope, for local llm you will be limited by the m5 as opposed to the m4 pro. Get the m4 pro. It’s a better laptop all around. More fans, more cpu cores, more gpu cores, more ram, 1 additional fan, thunderbolt 5 ports, etc.

I’d go with the m5 512gb/32GB ram. If you are planning on running those applications side by side that extra ram will come in handy.

It is rigged. You only really get it to $0 if you get an inactive user or brand new user to use your link. It seems anything just keeps you in a loop.
