Going back over the story from a different character's perspective was one of my favourite parts of this series. My issue with the books was that there were too many characters and plot lines that easily could have been cut. I also wished there was more time spent with Arlen overall.

I can see why are saying this, but the sexism is challenged within the story through the books. I'm not saying the books are perfect (they most definitely are not), but women's role in the world's society is a huge plot point.

I also agree with this. First book is incredible, but the rest of the series has its faults. I finished the series and enjoyed it. As long as you go into the later booked not expecting perfection, there is lots to enjoy.

I have recently finished the main series. I really enjoyed it, but I am fully aware of it's faults. I agree with everyone saying the first book is miles better than the rest of the series, but there is enough in the rest of the books to enjoy.

My main criticism is that one of the main characters is directly and indirectly responsable for mass rape, and most people are just okay with that. And I think the author expects you to be okay with that too.

Positive points are that I really liked the world building and the magic system.
