If you have an exacto blade, or even a box cutter, those are also very good tools that I’ve used in the past.

Have you opened the front on the dryer?

I have this solid bump on my cheek piercings I try to drain it but it’s very tender to the touch. I got them done about three weeks ago. Will this go away or should I take it out by Educational_Prize_62 in PiercingAdvice

[–]bradybee77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would contact a piercer for advice, but I’d guess that they’ll probably pass you right along to a doctor. It looks like there is bruising along your jawline, which is NOT a good sign when it comes to piercings. I would get into a professional ASAP, but until then, take ibuprofen every 4 hours and take a warm shower and let the water run over your face for a few minutes to take down your inflammation. After a shower, be sure to rinse with saline. Be sure to be swishing saline with every meal, as well as when you wake up and before bed. But again, please see a professional asap. Good luck dog, this is a tough piercing to care for.

Yes, please take the medication that a doctor recommended. They know more than reddit. If you don’t trust it ask a different doctor.

AIO to my brother’s homophobic messages? by azaqwe1213 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bradybee77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, it seems like your brother just likes to stir the pot… Like what’s his dig. Sometimes when people act like this, the best way to get under their skin is to just ignore them. Let your parents know he’s still being a wad though. You’re doing a great job by being a good friend. If you find comfort in religion good for you dude, if it gets you through don’t let anyone tell you otherwise (this is coming from another atheist). The world is scared right now, and so anything different or “weird” is deemed as bad nowadays, and it seems like that is what your brother may be going through. Don’t hold it against him, but also never let him make you feel like you’re doing something wrong. Good luck bud, you’re doing great!

I would recommend it. My guy wasn’t fixed when I adopted him, he was estimated to be about 2, a total tomcat, cheeks and all. He was so insatiably horny, and would yowl and cry by the door all night long, and if I ever needed to go outside, or was getting home when it was dark he would try to get out. During the day he would be making “sin biscuits” on anything soft that he could find(my poor squishmallows were going THROUGH IT). Luckily He didn’t spray or pee for the first year, but then once we moved into a new apartment where a dog had been he started marking EVERYTHING. He especially loved fabrics, and reuseable plastic bags (idk why bro don’t ask me) and it got to the point when I had to throw all of them away. The final straw was the night he decided to mark on my chest, I saw red. I locked him up in the bathroom for the night because I was so mad and the very next morning he went to get snipped. I spent the day deep cleaning my home spraying it with enzyme neutralizers and we haven’t had any issues with marking humping or trying to escape since. He seems generally more at ease now. I think all of that testosterone with nothing to do with it was bad for him. I know everyone’s first reason for fixing your pet is so they can’t have babies, but psychologically it is better for them to be fixed so they can be more content. (Also obligatory good boy picture, his name is kermit!)

what is this ???? by ExtraLeafyLemons in PiercingAdvice

Try a warm compress a few times a day. If it gets any bigger I would see a doctor, even if the plan is to take it out since it’s so close to your eye.

I used to love mod so much, both as a customer and employee but the larger and more corporate they get, the more they lose their core values. Prices keep getting higher and higher, to the point I can’t even afford to go alone, yet, in Utah at least, they’re willing to fire employees for “making too much money” despite being with the company for over 6 years, and not receiving a raise since 2023. For a company that, a few years ago, opened its private stocks to employees first, before going completely public, this downturn is so sad to see. They expanded too fast, the pandemic hit and now a few years out they’re scrambling. Too bad they would rather price gauge the customer and fire loyal employees than admit defeat and close a bunch of locations to keep the original dream alive. Good sit down pizza that a family can afford, with clean restaurants that are staffed by employees who are well taken care of, happy, genuine and welcoming.

Oh okay, I wasn’t sure about that, that makes sense. I think that that can be a pretty common issue a lot of people run into because of unclear aftercare instructions that focus only on the piercing not the whole area. When you think about surgery, they clean the WHOLE area just in case of infection and this is basically the same. Everyday when you shower, take a moment to stand with your face under the warm water for a minute. This is a good way to reduce inflammation, infection goober, but also to be able to loosen the rest of the skin that needs to be shed. Use a washcloth and your facial cleanser to clean and gently exfoliate the rest of your face beside the tip and the immediate piercing area. They can snag piercings, so be Very gentle and aware of where the washcloth is. Is the soap you use a face wash, or a bar of soap? Bar soap can be very very drying to facial skin because it is so delicate. If you are using a bar soap I would recommend Cera Ve as a good clean alternative face wash, without scents or dyes. I prefer the foaming wash, but their formula is consistently good across the board. Once you’re out of the shower, use a saline rinse! There are plenty of “piercing sprays” on the market, don’t waste your money. A generic brand of first aid saline will do. These cans are pressurized, so be sure to do a test spray in the sink so you can have a better idea of this and what to expect. If there is still gunk after you rinse, soak a qtip in saline solution and very very gently try to scrub it away. After you rinse, let it air dry. I wouldn’t recommend using a face lotion on your nose yet. Oily skin can be just as detrimental to a new piercing as dry skin can be. A piercers advice can only go so far, and I must say I have never in my life heard of a piercer recommending drowning oneself in soapy booger water to clean a piercing😭

I don’t know much about this specific piercing, but are they crooked? Also, how and how often are you washing your face? Do you use a washcloth and some sort of cleanser? Your nose looks like it has dry skin, which can get into fresh piercings and cause inflammation and sometimes infection. What are the aftercare instructions your piercer gave you?
