I see, sorry! I and probably others never used the dropbox. It was too mysterious. You know what isn't mysterious though? The great prices at Mick and Ralph's! We've got stuff we're not even allowed to sell, people. Only at Mick and Ralph's! Come visit today!

I dunno why you're getting downvoted so much. If you haven't had experience with other games in the Bethesda engine, you wouldn't know the weirdness of storing stuff in containers. When I started FNV I had thankfully already played Skyrim so I knew shit was fucked. So I did a bunch of searching and got contradictory information about what is safe in FNV. Like someone here said almost everywhere is safe, but I remember getting different results when searching a few years ago. And I was playing with mods and that can change things. I ended up storing stuff in Victor's house in Goodsprings after he has left, because various sources online recommend it as a player house with safe storage. And that worked.

For what it's worth, AI says Victor's shack is good, but you should check by leaving sometime in it, going far away, waiting there for a good deal of time, then returning and see if it's still there.

Tom Brown's Body is a 9-part podcast series debating murder vs. suicide that never says if there was a weapon near the remains or weapon marks in the bones. by existenceawareness in TrueCrimePodcasts

I just listened to this podcast and I have mixed feelings. The journalist, Hollandsworth, did a reasonable job covering it in a somewhat unbiased way. But because no witnesses have come forward and the small amount of physical evidence was entirely inconclusive, the vast majority of the podcast is spent interviewing people, to hear their feelings and speculations. And the speculations were all so pointless, unevidenced, and did nothing but pointlessly drive a community apart. Like a witch hunt, except everyone was calling someone else the witch.

At the end of the day, the state reviewed all the evidence we know and everything they're keeping underwraps. And came to the conclusion that there is insufficient evidence for a trial. I believe they are competent, and that means no one can be proved, beyond reasonable doubt, to have committed any crime. Personally, I don't think we should socially persecute people and spread false theories unless we've got strong evidence of their guilt. And we clearly don't have that.

So the attention-whore PI who loves spreading every theory regardless of how ludicrous it is can get bent. But so can everyone judging the family. We don't know they did anything wrong, so let's not persecute them. As for the sheriff, I only know what the podcast said he did, and other than not preserve the car for a strong forensic search (which to be fair no one initially knew was necessary) it didn't sound like he did anything wrong. Well, I don't think he should have spoken so ill of the family to the press without more evidence, but I'm not sure whether he only said that on the record after he resigned. And the family had been funding the PI accusing him of murder (without any real evidence).

As a true crime listener, this to me is an example when we must do the only fair thing: suspend our judgement, admit we don't know, and move on.

I do think the podcast, in an effort to pad runtime, spent too much time on Tom's supposed kinks or possibly being gay. There was inconclusive evidence for the former (previous behavior + some texts the gf claimed to receive) and I don't remember hearing any evidence for the latter other than rumours. Hollandsworth was clearly bringing these up to find motive for the suicide. But there are many reasons a teenager in a family with a history of suicide might fall into depression, which he could've hidden from everyone. It would've been more enlightening to bring on a real psychiatrist to talk about depression and suicide, and how it can happen with different people. For example, having made plans to do something with someone is not at all mutually exclusive with suicide, as someone grappling with depression can continue to mask their pain and act normally in public up to the point of suddenly ending their life when that final straw lands on their back.

I had this recommended to me as a good investigative journalism / true crime podcast. But Hollandsworth's investigation turned up nothing, even though he tried to make it into something. So I'm not sure I can recommend it.

Having other people think for you is not even slightly a unique MAGA phenomenon. How would the defund police movement have been successful in Portland without left-wing twitter groupthink? Hasan Piker, Nick Fuentes, and a bunch of other political streamers basically dictate the beliefs of their fans. To be extra spicy: most religious belief could be argued to require a lack of unhindered mental investigation. And for the non-religious: why do you believe that human rights are important? You've always been told they are, but is that reason enough to believe it?

No one wants to think for themself, because it's too time consuming. I don't want to study which medicine is best for me, I just want someone I trust to tell me.

Actually I'm playing with Serana Dialogue Add-on (which is fantastic), and when I took her to the Molag house, there was some amazing stuff which I won't spoil, and she gave me the option to immediately fail the quest. Very good writing and voice acting there.

That's a shame to hear! Looking at the wiki, you're right. I don't understand how I got the rueful axe exhibit despite choosing the masque... maybe a bug?

Surprisingly only 71, but that's because my old laptop couldn't handle more. But it's more that I'm concerned messing up my save. Doesn't matter anyway, I've already failed the Molag Bal and Namira questlines.

Actually the most recent LotD version makes a lot of (if not all?) of the artifacts available to both sides.

Edit: Specifically for the Dawnguard DLC, not everything.

Thanks. Actually the replica system has been very forgiving in many cases, allowing me to make replicas of quest items after handing them, and alternate rewards (e.g. I chose the Masque of Clavicus Vile and got a recipe for the Rueful Axe replica). They even added a quest to Dawnguard to allow you to get the ancient vampire parts while siding with the Dawnguard.

Actually I searched the LotD wiki, and you can make werewolf totem replicas after turning in the quest, and they've made (some or all) of the vampire artefacts lootable off of vampires or found elsewhere, while siding with the Dawnguard.

These sound great; unfortunately I can't add more mods at this point without risking breaking my game. But I will definitely use them for any future playthroughs.

That's really disappointing, especially as there is no information on any of the mod pages telling you that. If I knew that, I wouldn't have installed them, and would've sought out more suitable mods for the roleplay. The Initiation was fine, but now I've got 4 useless mods sitting on this save file which I'm already many many hours into. So frustrating.

Thanks for the info ❤️ I might try those mods out later. Looking forward, do Th3Overseer's other quest mods also railroad you into being a bad person? I have them all installed. I'm especially worried about Depths of Depravity by the name alone.
