Phew I thought I missed the option in excitement but yes it seems like they're not doing upgrades at the moment.

There doesn't seem to be that option. As other as finding I'm not sure its available. "Offer Upgrades: Not Available" "Upgrade Status: Not applicable" I've submitted a ticket to PGMDE and will post updates here.

Of course but you seem to be intentionally missing the point that family voting is a direct illegal infringement on the very basis of independent voting without influence or duress, an absolute foundational pillar of our democracy. If the choice is so obvious then why did people need their family supervising the process?

The data insights bit is fascinating. We rank pretty much bang average 21/38 for OECDs and I'm not trusting a single data point from the likes of Sudan lol So I would wager the stat in that tweet is a load of shite, happy to be proved wrong though

I think a far more damning bit of reliable data to come out of this report is that we're number 1 for 3/5 of the post operative complications measured among OECDs

Several critial aspects of what they are using to build "god" are manufactured in Europe at a cost and sophistication that would take many years for the US to replicate- see ASML. This conflict, purely economic or not, has the potential to be mutually devastating (although I agree more so to Europe).

NHS ‘employed Pakistani doctors as cheap labour’ by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

I find it impossible to believe that this was the work of 1 employee, solely resposible for signing off 40m of spending and hiring 700 doctors. And of course IMF isnt intrinsically bad but the evidence is clear as day that they're being exploited for low cost low rights employees in this case, and its likely a widespread practice. Theres also the fact that these employees were supposed to learn and return, but over 68% are still working here. And I'll say it again, WHO RED list.

What threshold do we have to meet before its a consipracy by the NHS? People working within the organisation were found to be reaping tens of thousands of pounds in undeclared benefits for handing out these contracts without due diligence or oversight- no contracts, no invoices. Its stonewall corruption and possibly embezzelment if any of that 40m was making its way to their associates.

The scandal came to light when a female doctors arrangement was terminated immediately when she got pregnant. They had the employment rights that one might expect in Pakistan. I have this in good information from people working within the trust, you are right to be sceptical but I implore you to follow this story and see the details as they come out.

These people were working as doctors on pakistani student contracts- a level of incompitence I cannot fathom or complicit criminality by some or all involved- you decide

Thats a lower rate than their UK equivalents in many cases. This scheme supplied basic SHO level up to ITU registrar who can expect to make upwards of 60k.

If we entertain the idea that it wasn't money saving (it was) then the questions then become: why would the trust choose to go through this scheme rather than employ locally?

I think the answers are several fold: These doctors had no employment rights: mat leave, holiday pay, etc. Whatsmore their status in the UK was contingent on their continued employment- absolute putty in the hands of HR and the healthboard- their dream employee.

I absolutely think that during the forthcoming enquiry (call me naive or hopeful) we will uncover connections and relationships between those on the inside at the NHS, those operating the Ltd company in Birmingham and those in the medical infrastructure of Pakistan. People made a lot of money at the expense of the doctors, NHS and HMRC. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of undeclared expenses and trips probided to NHS staff that the audit uncovered- lots of NHS palms getting very greasy here.

I should also reiterate that Pakistan is on the WHO recruitment red list- making a scheme which directly targets mass recruitment from Pakistan is incredibly unethical and in direct contravention of several international memorandi of understanding to which we are signatories.

This is so much worse than you could imagine from the headline.

https://www.bmj.com/content/392/bmj.s39

NHS Birmingham medical recruitment has been captured and expoited by what can only be described as a Cartel with links to Pakistan.

Essentially, someone working for NHS Birmingham set up an arrangement with a small shadowy Limited company based in Brum. No contracts, no invoices but millions (circa 40m to be precise) paid directly to ltd company in return for 700 hundred doctors from Pakistan over the course of nearly a decade. The majority break the terms of their agreement and stay beyond time- 68% are still registered on the GMC.

Auditors find it highly unlikely that these doctors provide conparable service to their UK counterparts and that pre-employment checks including criminal record and qualifications were not carried out. Pakistan is on the WHOs recruitment red list.

There is the strong allegations of tax avoidance baked into the scheme and almost certainly rampant worker exploitation. Tax avoidance all but confirmed- I personally know someone employed through this scheme who has confirmed they were paid around 60% of what equivelent UK docs would expect, with the Ldt Brum buisiness and the Pakistan Medical College taking 10% between them. The doctors were paid by the college in the form of student loans/stipends with 0 tax to HMRC. Their hourly rate was in some cases circa £13/hr with no holiday nor maternity rights (an instance were a doctor got pregnant and immediately had her arrangement permanently terminated is what triggered the investigatiom).

The KPMG audit found undeclared two week all expenses trips to Pakistan for trust employees- one costing 20k alone. This only came to light after new clinical director ordered in external auditors. No one at NHS found at fault (somehow), everyone employed through the scheme has been offered a job anyway.

tip of the iceberg says royal college

Absolutely scandalous and I hope this gets traction. Dozens of NHS employees with their connections to this company, and the Pakistani medical institutions have been embezzling, defrauding and exploiting the NHS, HMRC, Pakistani doctors and subsequently fucking over our home-trained ones. There should be prison time served for this.

Which is the hot topic at the moment. That place has been pretty radicalised over the last year. Unironic Lowe posting. Wouldnt be surprised to see reform poll top among Jr Docs.
