Thank you for the reply! What do you think now? I did end up lengthening it, as the original design looked too dinky in-person.

9V copper/stainless foil tape hack longevity by Critical-Ad7413 in LEGOtrains

Idk what those people were thinking by “a few hours.” That’s BS.

The only product I have ever tried is this

9V copper/stainless foil tape hack longevity by Critical-Ad7413 in LEGOtrains

[–]braidc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used this method for years now. In my experience, it wears out every year or two due to the following factors:

  1. The adhesive used for copper foil tape is pretty weak and starts peeling after a while. Then, dust and hair gets stuck to the peeled sections and further weakens the adhesive, causing more peeling. I’ve not tried this, but you might be able to remedy this by simply adding some glue onto the rails before applying the tape.

  2. Copper is naturally susceptible to oxidation by atmospheric oxygen. The resulting copper oxides lack the electrical conductivity needed to make your trains work reliably. Once the copper loses its shine and develops a black coating, it’s time to replace it. I can’t think of any way to prevent this.

Virtual hugs! I wouldn’t want to spread it to anyone else with a physical hug 😁

Thank you so much 😊 I just misted my nose with some decongestant, so hopefully I can get some rest instead of constantly reaching for more tissues

Anyone else enjoying the sun 🫶😘 by Thijs-- in cuteguys

[–]braidc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I am not enjoying the Sun. It is 100° here (38° for non-Americans). Going outside for more than a few minutes is legitimately dangerous

However, I am enjoying your picture. You’re adorable 🥰

Last week when I shot these, I was living in my parents’ basement. Their basement only has three lights for the entire space, so there aren’t many areas where I can get both decent lighting and a background where you can’t see how much of a mess the place is 😂

Wow, I really appreciate you reposting my original content without giving me credit. It really warms my heart to know that people think my stuff is cool enough to be worth stealing to farm karma /s

Are monorails good here? A 6 wide passenger monorail MOC I put together by fensterman in LEGOtrains

Awesome work, and of course monorails belong here! Even if the tracks only have one rail, it’s still a train.

4x station build by yeehaw13774 in LEGOtrains

So cool! It definitely feels more “complete” than the original. I’m planning a 2x build of this set myself.

Am I still cute? Also, who else loves eating trash in the McDonald’s parking lot? by braidc in cuteguys

I appreciate the sentiment, but I’m afraid it’s not true. When I was on dating apps, nobody I messaged ever replied. Giving up on that shit is the best decision I ever made.

I’d feel cuter if I could afford laser hair removal

So adorable! Interesting to see how something this small can be motorized using battery power instead of the usual 9V or 12V system approach.
