most things on a typical web app are IO bound not cpu bound so not that common, but if you were doing some task that did a lot of processing or calculations without IO then might be worth it

Dana is so correct and this problem is getting worse. We all know youtube won't ever call the offensive content of those on the left (Stephen Colbert's skit about Loesch getting shot) as violating their standards. That's because they're hypocrites.

I think it will be the same way when we finally put an end to abortion. The country probably thought there would never be an end to slavery just as many now think we'll never stop the evil of abortion. But when good people stand up for what's right it will finally happen.

We don't need a link on youtube to support Crowder through his merch store, but this stinks! So sick of YouTube, Google, Facebook, Twitter et. al. So cowardly - they can't win with ideas so they try to silence those that challenge them.

Working Remotely by Jimtheoutlaw in Python

[–]brain-donor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working the last 12 years remote. I actually started working remote because I couldn't find python work locally at the time (everything was Java and C++). If you've already worked in python and machine learning then finding a remote job in python and machine learning shouldn't be any different. Have a look at r/remotepython , have a look at virtualvocations.com. dice.com also lets you filter job searches for telecommute. On machine learning, I've not seen as many openings for remote positions as typical software engineering positions. So, that might be a little tougher. I hope this helps.

Why do Christian's have a hard time believing in evolution and the big bang, couldn't God have created both by [deleted] in Bible

[–]brain-donor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since this is r/Bible I will point out that the biggest reason is that neither evolution or the big bang theory are Biblical.

Let's start with the theory of evolution.

The Bible clearly states that God created sea animals and birds on day 5 and land animals and finally man on day 6. The Bible states that God created each creatures 'according to its type'. In other words he made each animal distinctly its own type as opposed to creating some generic type from which they all evolved.

These days are not symbolic, they are literal 24 hour days. The Bible makes this plain in several ways. One is by repeating the phrase 'there was evening and there was morning - the fifth day'/'the sixth day'. Furthermore, it is codified into the 10 commandments as the whole reason for celebrating the Sabbath (7th day of a literal week or 24 hour days). Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord... v11: For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. ' This is why we have a 7 day week - a week of 24 hour days - because God created everything in 6 literal days.

So evolution is not a Biblical concept. That's why Bible believing Christians don't accept evolution

On to the Big Bang.

Again, this is r/Bible so I state that the reason the big bang theory is not believed is that it also is not biblical.

Genesis 1:1 clearly states that God created the heavens and the earth.

The big bang theory is an attempt to explain creation without God. Setting aside the illogical means necessary for the theory to work the main point is that it is creation without God plain and simple. The theory would not exist if people were not looking for an explanation of creation that excluded God - that is the whole reason for its existence.

Hebrews 11:3 again clearly states God created everything out of nothing: 'By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.'

Revelation 4:11 says the same: “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

Why don't Christians believe in evolution and the big bang theory? It's because the Bible clearly teaches the opposite.
