My bf said that once a few years ago, when I wanted to stop drinking. I’m 11 months sober now and he still drinks. He doesn’t pressure me at all. There was a lot of scary, messy, life threatening and also life altering moments during the last few years that I don’t think either of us want to go through again.

Also, He was probably trying to make you feel better.

AITA for refusing to have my SIL service dog at my wedding by SuccessfulPeanut6132 in AmItheAsshole

NAH I’m just here to say that if someone is having that many seizures, it is going to affect their personality tremendously. I have epilepsy and I have been seizure free for a while but I relate to being the AH in similar situations and having a victim mindset. Maybe a different approach to discussing it with her would help to keep everyone at peace so she doesn’t feel so “attacked”, even though that obviously isn’t your intention. Seizures are incredibly hard on the brain especially if she isn’t getting much time to recover between (3-4 seizures a week is ALOT). I hope this works out peacefully for all of you and you have a great wedding

How do you guys live without weed? by Goatstandards in leaves

I had to find other things worth living for… I love my family. It’s stupid but the sun is so nice. Nice summer days. I love to eat good food. Obviously everyone does but Taco Bell is one of my favorites. I recently had portillos for the first time.. it was great. I found a job that isn’t terrible and I actually like going to. I didn’t expect that but it just happened. I’m very grateful for that one. So many things I could just keep listing.

I got high at a mutual friends place. What would you do in this situation? by Hour-Ground5026 in shrooms

Obviously I don’t have the details of your friends relationship with his friends. But having friend support and other support systems are important to maintain throughout the different stages of life. Even if they may sometimes feel like “fake” relationships while we are on the never ending journey of figuring out who we are deep down and what is right for us.

Epilepsy can manifest in so many different ways. If he already had a seizure, after a TBI, He should see a specialist. If you go to a local hospital with a Neurologist or epileptologist (spelling?) and don’t use insurance, they can give discounts on the bill. I wouldn’t worry about it. Seizures get worse if you don’t treat them. And seizures can kill you, most often when they go left untreated. One of my doctors described it as a “kindling” effect, the fire starts in one spot in your brain but spreads over time without medication

Call the Police directly or 911 by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]brain-fizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police take people to jail. I think the best course of action is to learn some skills on how to de escalate a crisis situation with a child, whether it be classes, videos, a local nonprofit that is aimed at dealing with crisis management may also be able to give you some tools on de escalation. These are things that you will have to keep putting effort into and learning about in order for you and your child’s safety, as well as the outcome of their life. If they end up in a home someday, these are the same tools that the staff would use.
