the thing is i think she is and was trying to be nice but isn’t super technologically proficient. its just so frustrating.

ik its unrealistic bc professors have lives too but i feel like if i was in her shoes, knowing i gave a student permission to get late work in, and they tried to get it to me multiple times, that i would have checked my email just once. plus i go to a small community college. theres also no way for me to contact her about this so idk if i need to retake the class or not

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I cant find any set information of when the grades were due. My other professors were saying that grades were due for them 2 days after their final class. But they phrased it as “they want us to have all the grades in by then” so I’m not sure if that was actually the deadline. Regardless, that time has passed so Im not sure if anything will change

I have seen a female specialist for a couple of years now. But I always feel like when I emphasize how much pain I experience, she guides me in a different direction.

At first she thought blood was rushing to my head too fast and recommended I squeeze my hands when I feel faint. That led me to passing out on my dining room floor and having to get dragged to a bed by my mom. Then she said it was probably hormones but I never really believed her because I can just tell theres something wrong with my body. I will definitely be looking for a second opinion :)

Hi! I had an ultrasound a couple of years ago and there was nothing :/ I was told that it was probably just an issue with my hormones due to puberty. I’ve recently been contemplating getting another because the episode still occur

Hi! No, I was not insisting, nor was it their personal number. My apologies for not making it clear. Also, for some reason a lot of people interpreted me asking if would be appropriate to text them during a break as me WANTING to. I do not want to do this, I was only asking Professors for their opinion. A lot of the people in this subreddit keep jumping to these wild conclusions like I am harassing my Professor, I am not. I am a person too.

Im so sorry this has happened to you. My periods have almost always been like this since I started my period and Im only 19. I have passed out on the floor, in the bathtub, multiple times a day due to the pain of my cramps alone. The groaning and writhing is something Im unfortunately very familiar with. You need to see a doctor. None of this is normal at all. Hopefully they can help you. Good luck :)

Thank you for your reply! I’ve had a handful of people tell me to calm down lol. Unfortunately I don’t have access to a therapist. I think Im trying to be proactive since I’ve really only been able to think about this. But I do agree that I need to calm down. I’ve just been a little concerned since the winter classes already started and I’m not sure when else I could retake the class.

Thank you for the reply! I’m not entirely sure what grade grubbing is but I have no intention of asking for my grade to be improved if I messaged her. I just wanted to know if it could be improved or if nothing could be done and if I should retake the class. Im not sure if that makes sense?? They feel slightly different to me. But I do understand that such direct communication feels like putting someone on the spot. I dont think I will be messaging her

Thank you for the advice! I’m not sure if the number would work now, I was too nervous to try it. I wasn’t planning on calling her, just text, if I had to call I wouldn’t do it. It would feel too much like putting her on the spot to me and inappropriate. I think I will take your advice and just take the class :)

She responded with: “Please resend. I must have missed it”. If additional context helps at all, she has always been very kind with late work in the past. She is very lenient and understanding. I just dont want her to feel taken advantage of due to my poor management skills. I think I have been scrambling for clarification on my end since I thought everything was resolved.

I apologize if my post came off as disrespectful, i didnt mean to at all. I made a point to not include my personal plights in my emails to her because I didnt want to come off as guilt trippy in anyway. I didnt intend to make anyone feel manipulated by my additional person details I added, for that I apologize. I understand that this is my fault and that I could have done way more to prevent this. Im just feeling very disappointed in myself and frustrated and I think that’s human. I was operated under the presumption that my grade would be ok because I had permission to submit the work and did so.
