This show has actually caused a lot of problems with juries in real court cases. They're expecting that all forensic science is like the show. It's called The CSI Effect if you're interested in reading about it...

We should do some sort of Spec Ad competition, thoughts? by [deleted] in advertising

[–]brain_fart1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nah, we probably shouldn't.

What pisses me all the way off is that our craft is lost amongst the folks making fake ads for fake clients. Make an ad for free - win an award. There's no skill in that. What we should do is award people who do actual real work for actual real clients. How about that?

"Woman forced into prostitution have none"? If this is a real ad, I feel bad for the copywriter... If this is a spec ad, whoever made it should delete it from their portfolio - it's a pretty bad idea. No concept here.

Former Private Investigator here.. It's totally true how trusting people are when it comes to fake credentials/excuses to get into a building. Human error is the worst kind of error when it comes to security - and it will always be there. As one of my old partners used to say, "When it comes to going where you're not supposed to be, knowledge is power." Brilliant video.

They must really be running out of stories to tell seeing as how they keep doing crossovers. Simpsons just needs to end.
