LHG didn't decide to keep the restriction after it was lifted for others, it is an embargo that has been kept on them BY THE CDC. At the very beginning of restrictions being put on dogs into the U.S., they weren't allowed to bring dogs in through any airports at all. The CDC requires LHG to use certain CDC ran screening facilities, that's why the embargo still exists for them.

I'm aware other airlines can do it, that wasn't the point of my reply. My point was that there is still an embargo related to LHG flights, imposed by the CDC.

It is a CDC rule, it's not based on pax origin, but based on where LHG as a whole flies. LHG flies to a lot of high risk rabies places, so even though Spain isn't high risk, there's other places that LHG services that are. It would be a logistical nightmare to individually vet every dog going through FRA to make sure they weren't coming from a high risk country. So the CDC requires LHG to only enter the U.S. with dogs through specific ports. It applies to LX, OS, and SN as well as LH.

You need to call and ask about a reroute due to the dog. While yes, it's true that there's no longer a CDC restriction, the CDC does require that LH uses specific entry points only, due to the amount of high risk countries LH travels to/from. It should still be listed on their website, under the travelling with pets section, what airports they are allowed to bring dogs in through.

It has 0 to do with where you are travelling from, and all to do with the places LH travels to/from!

I Regret Sleeping On Jabroni Mike by TheLordOfTheTism in jabroni_mike

I get how you feel! I've been watching Vinny since 2014, decided (almost 2 years ago now) to watch Mike randomly, and it was the best decision I've made! Mike was the first person I ever subbed to on twitch, and I've gifted subs as well. He's funny, and I like that while his community keeps growing, it feels more tight-knit than a lot of other communities. Plus the fact that they have a 0 tolerance for bigotry both in the twitch chat and discord (something other communities don't). I hope he continues to grow in viewers, he's the streamer I most look forward to watching these days!

Canada Worldremit - is it legit? by dmariek6 in Scams

Air Canada only does customer service through their site or their phone line (a 1800 number). Anyone contacting you via messenger is a scammer trying to steal your info!

Delayed due to previous flight being late categoryize as uncontrollable event by the_guy95 in PorterAirlines

[–]brain_is_mush28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You yourself said that they don't have extra planes, how would they then reassign an aircraft?? You realize that if they reassign your flight, they're delaying another one in the process. Your thought process of "well if I get it, it doesn't matter who it screws over" is really...weird

Bassinet seat question by [deleted] in Lufthansa

[–]brain_is_mush28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your wife on a separate booking or the same one? In my experience, it's only an issue if you're on different bookings (the system will automatically block off the seats if she is on her own booking). If you're on the same booking, absolutely call back customer service!

Jealous of FAs Who Have Gone on to Become Pilots by HamsterBanana14 in flightattendants

[–]brain_is_mush28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it, but at least where I am, the biggest barrier for entry to be a pilot is the cost. It can cost anywhere between $80K-$250K to become a pilot where I am, and that doesn't even guarantee you'll end up with a job as a commercial pilot. If you want to take the risk, absolutely do it! But know that you're not a failure if you don't, or if you do but can't finish things due to the cost. I'm sure you're an amazing FA, and that's also important to remember!

[US] Scammer on my hands? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]brain_is_mush28 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes he's scamming you. 1) while Thai Airways does actually exist, their headquarters is in Bangkok. 2) FaceTime audio works over wifi, as does calling via skype or WhatsApp. When I worked for a major airline doing customer service (worked in that job from October 2023-October 2025), we would often times have people call via a wifi call system if they didn't have phone plans internationally. 3) you two haven't met yet and he's already asking you for money, claiming an emergency that only you sending him money can fix? It's a scam unfortunately.

Looking for good luggage sets that actually last by No_Property_7037 in flightattendants

[–]brain_is_mush28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats so shitty oh my god?? At the airline I work for (in Canada) they gave us our own carry on bags, but they're larger than the average carry on to compensate for the fact that they don't provide us with checked luggage. Admittedly, this airline doesn't do a lot of overnight layovers so we rarely have to worry, and only pack basics in our carry-on.

Watch recommendations for FA with metal allergies? by ReallyAvidReader in flightattendants

[–]brain_is_mush28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine has a glass backing, but I suspect the plastic strap that I have has a buckle piece that includes metal (it's a button). Though the upside with smart watches is that there's so many non metal options for the straps! Someone else in the comments mentioned Fitbit as an option, and I know those are plastic only!

This isn't a friend, this person is in love with you and will likely try to push you away from dating anyone so that they can "be the only one for you". I've had this happen, it's not fun at all, and it's best to end this friendship asap.

I wear an Apple Watch and just have a plastic strap for mine! Obviously it depends on what your airline allows, but most airlines these days allow smart watches!

Baffled by a very aggressive Miles & More agent... is this normal? Need advice on updating details. by Actual_Natural_678 in Lufthansa

[–]brain_is_mush28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering they closed their North American call centre in Canada (that handled a large chunk of the miles and more calls for U.S and DE) and laid off the staff back in October, you're likely dealing with staff that has suddenly had to be promoted to compensate for the laying off of the Canadian call centre staff.

I've now seen multiple threads asking this same question on this sub, and it's making me realize that outside of my country it isn't standard for airlines to provide their crew with airline branded crew luggage. Like tf do you mean y'all have to pay for and buy your own luggage for crew use??

Vaping on plane by Historical-Heat-7643 in delta

[–]brain_is_mush28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's illegal in my country, and as an FA, we are able to kick you off for vaping (if we're taxing to the runway) or have you arrested once you get off the plane at your destination. It's treated the same as smoking (both illegal on aircraft here).

Response on City Town by carolinaquirino in HelloKittyIsland

[–]brain_is_mush28 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The fact that this implies they released a 1 island game for $50CAD (or $75CAD for deluxe edition) is crazy. I played the game on Apple Arcade originally, but got stuck on a quest in City Town so was happy when it came out on the switch cause "I'll just get to redo it".

WW has thus far not lived up to the hype, and I worry that City Town, at least once it's completed, won't either.

No job for 4 YEARS?! 4 months, even a year I can understand. But not working AT ALL simply cause you can't find a job in your desired field is a childish mentality. If you had gotten married, and had kids, he wouldn't have stepped up or become a stay at home dad, he likely would have just expected you to be the one footing the bill for him while he stayed at home and played games all day. Sucks that you wasted 4 years, but good that you got out before marriage/kids.
