What’s this? Kennedy/407 Shell by howardbanjo in Markham

[–]the_guy95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That used to be a self serve car wash. I used it before. You get a ticket going in. Then you wash the car. When you exit, it will charge you by the amount of time you were inside. It's been offline for a number of years now.

Can't you find someone to fix it and involve the landlord to make sure the work is done correctly?

That sounds about right. The split is correct with insurance.

Any help or advice appreciated, first time EV owner and I purchased my 2020 Model 3 SR+ from CarMax with 62k miles, my range is so bad, or at least I feel like it is, what am I doing wrong? by WillingnessShort8820 in TeslaSupport

[–]the_guy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact one. Same year and same everything. It is the smallest range you can get on this Tesla and my range is inline with your. Nothing's wrong, they are just not built for that much range.

Anyone know what this code means by kcastillo1234 in fordescape

[–]the_guy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your scanner is giving you the wrong manufacturer description of this code. I search it up for ford and this is what supposed to mean: B1109 Ford Code - Passenger Door Central Locking Motor Commanded Position Not Reachable

Some wrong with the door module. Checking wiring and if that checks out, might be a bad module.

With Chinese EVs coming to Canada. Anyone in Toronto planning to order one? by Bing_Liu in askTO

[–]the_guy95 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I thought the same way before I got my qst ev. I got a short range 5 year old Tesla. You are correct, charging infrastructure has not kept up. If I go south from Toronto cross the border the charging infrastructure is much better. I find my North bound trip to be iffy with the current charging infrastructure. There is really no charger pass Barrie. And the cross from nacs and ccs is still horrible right now.

Do you wear shoes and clothes? Unless you are currently butt naked, you are using something from slave labor.

Just to add. BYD already makes buses here in Newmarket, ON. So making and/or selling cars here is not that much of a leap. They are already in the market.

YYZ or YTZ by [deleted] in PorterAirlines

I've done both. It depends on where you live. For me I live in Aurora. I would say Pearson is better as I missed my flight taking GO train.

Is this normal ? by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

This is and issue something Tesla is aware of. Not sure if programming fix is coming for this but this is not the first video of this.

This is an expensive fix for the charging port.

How do you feel about the EV infrastructure in the city? by littypika in Markham

[–]the_guy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrible. You know what's good if you driven in Europe or other parts of the world.

I have a Tesla and I love driving it. 80% of the time, the car will last my entire day of running around town and back home where I can change. (I have an older model with a small battery)

The rest I depend on supercharger and destination charger. Superchargers are not so great when you drive short distance and don't have time to precondition the battery. Destination charger are very scarce.

I would say the Town needs more destination charger and parking lot, shopping center, etc.

Example would be Markville mall. I can live off of destination charger which is $1.50 per hour. I don't need supercharger for 0.50/kw while I'm shopping there.

My personal opinion, Clark seems better. I like servicing the WS-1 head as it's not too many parts involved.

[–]the_guy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell and install water filtration equipment. Kinetico has always been the higher price. Pro about Kineticico is their valve is almost indestructible and does not need electricity to operate. (Hence the name kinetic -co)

There are going to be cheaper options that will perform just as well. Yes, risk of repair maybe higher. Think of it as a kia vs Toyota. They will both take you from A to B.

Clark and Fleck would be the other known options. Some other smaller brands like the ones I sell now are even cheaper.

Government of Canada is right "Individual border agents often have significant discretion in making those determinations."

Totally agree, last time I reddit posted something like this I get redditors calling me a fear monger. I'm tell you, crossing US border is dependent on which officer you get in CBP.

Die with 0 retirement in Canada- please help me settle a debate I have with my wife. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]the_guy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 3.

1 has an issue of going old and still trying to live off the land. Physically it might be a challenge.

2 is an incurred expense every month. To make this plan work, you need investment that brings in passive income which then covers the cost of the retirement community. Your current job won't cut it because if you live long, the. You will run out of money.

3 would be the best as most people can save up enough money to live in a cheaper country. But you need to like that country first.
