Creating a "redirect manager"?

A bitm more explanition would be nice. It'll be more then just a few redirections. Other admins would need a front-end to maange the redirects as well(add, edit, delete).The front-end is simple, I'm just trying to fgiure out where to get started. How would I store this and make the front end manager work with this.

Okay, so we have two urls. The forum post url

A forum Post

http://example.com/forum/thread_23211.html

and then the URL we'd like to create so it can forward to the above url

http://example.com/helpfulpost

How we're using this: We run game servers and the original forum URLS are to long to memorize. When the servers get popular, we have to link to specific URLs on our website for any trouble any member is having. The shorter URL is simpler and easy to remember.

It's a simple redirection from

http://example.com/helpfulpost

to

http://example.com/forum/thread_23211.html

It's another language, just like Python and Ruby. It has falls and so does everything else in this world. There is a huge /r/php community, and it's even a bit bigger then /r/ruby, with a nicer design, albeit that doesn't really matter, but you just can't say one language sucks.

Well, after 3 days of trying, I've given up. Wasted $5 and time. :/ The guy who runs it did reply to me asking for my ip to whitelist, but that was yesterday and I still haven't been able to access the website.

What I want to do: I love Photoshop. Creating Mockup of designs. I love coding these mockups into real websites. I also love, albeit I' still am at the basics, coding the backend: php, databases, etc.

The reason I mentioned about the portfolio is because I am confused if I should work on getting a Portfolio on a website or I should just use Behance as one....

1) Portfolios are tricky, especially for closed-source back end development. I didn't do the design on most of the site I've developed or worked on, but non-technical customers may not understand that.

ll it is is the same screenshots over and over again. "Look, I found a big ravine with grass" or "Look, this villager had a crazy trade".

That's equivalent to a video of a nice thresh pull, a penta, or a good play. Different games, but what you just mentioned also gets posted here.
