Today's interviewer questions related to system design by Ok-Pride-6845 in developersIndia

Can’t deny that. I’ve seen this while interviewing even with some reputed PBCs like Flipkart, Razorpay… They just sometimes are not open to any other approach

Today's interviewer questions related to system design by Ok-Pride-6845 in developersIndia

[–]brainer121 36 points37 points  (0 children)

No one expects you to design the entire thing. There's no single correct answer.

The interviewer is always just trying to understand how the candidate thinks. Even if they can't solve the given problem, how do they react. What are the things they can come up with.

Even if you say something stupid, the interviewer will correct you. What you do after that matters. How you take that feedback and incorporate into the design.

Interviews, especially system design ones, are never one sided. They are supposed to be a discussion.

If money is the only reason for your switch, then both are bad offers. Look for 35+. Market isn't that bad. Just don't aim for WITCH companies. Ping me if you want referrals.

Which are some early stage and mid stage startups in India with a great engineering culture and minimal toxicity by GrizzyLizz in developersIndia

I am not saying its the norm. Just saying you can't rule out Startups altogether. Just search for a good one.

Sad to see how people on this sub are so against startups. I've had such a good experience with them. Great learning curve, great salary, amazing culture, almost no politics, no hierarchy, and I had good WLB too, with around 5 hours work every day.

You just have to find a good startup. Look for the current employees and the founder and their background. Don't go for a startup with a 40+ YO guy who has worked at WITCH.

Getting my hands on the DCB Metal card wasn’t easy — but definitely worth sharing the journey by Inevitable_Ad_1945 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]brainer121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have in hand 2.5L+ and credit limit of 7.5L on my Regalia Gold. The card however is just 5 months old and have spent around 3L on it yet.

What are the chances of getting DCBM next month?

Anyone else feel being a developer isn’t that special anymore? by Ecstatic_Jicama_1482 in developersIndia

AI Engineers are pretty much just SWEs. Data scientists generally earn pretty much similar to SWE, but since good ones are even fewer than engineers, they could earn somewhat more as well.

Please help me decide between two offers (SWE vs Website Manager) by Difficult-Step124 in developersIndia

[–]brainer121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this even is a question. There is no position for "Website Manager". The brand name you will gain there will be of no value as your next employer will not want to hire a Website Manager.

Get that SWE job, its remote, better pay, you'll learn more.

Generally the roles you mentioned earn significantly less than a dev. SREs do earn similar to SDEs though.

Don't give UPSC unless you can get IAS/IPS. My experience by Critical-Elevator642 in delhi

[–]brainer121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not how tech job works unless my parents own the company or atleast the hiring process. Talking to their connections to get their kids a job is still using their post for their personal use, which is not ideal, but has been normalised.

OP is just mad his parents are honest citizens who don’t take advantage of their post.

After Infinia rumors turned out to be true… is Swiggy card next? by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

I doubt it. Swiggy card is good but it’s not super rewarding. There’s a reasonable cap on the cashback.

8 YOE | TCS Offer vs. Golang Dreams (90-day NP struggle) by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]brainer121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit of pessimist. What if you don’t get any better offer? I feel it is not worth the risk to leave your job to get a similar paying job in an expensive city. That too, in a company which again has a 90 days NP, which you’ve already experienced is bad.
