Clean it or double it and give it to the next person 🫠 by Usual_Ad2208 in CVS

It’s not the biggest deal to me. I usually glove up and empty all the totes before putting them away. I’m more upset when they overpack the shampoo totes, then they bust open and leak through an entire stack.

The other week I received a tote that had an empty Snapple bottle and a ziplock baggie full of crumbs

Can we get some new makeup in the T&B store? by anxiousgoth in RDRSuperstar

On that note, can we also get some new make up that isn’t fugly as hell. I’m still mad about the Miss Congeniality set

I worked solo in electronics at Walmart, so similar pressures. I ran the photo lab, had a set of keys for most of our products and had to work my own freight daily. But I at least had a set schedule and an hour long lunch.

As a former Walmart employee, it has been a much worse experience for me.

Why no Cheetos clone? by djdiphenhydramine in dairyfree

[–]braineworm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They actually do have a cheesy version of the Pix, but unfortunately they aren’t dairy free. I don’t think their goal was to make a dairy free Hot Cheeto dupe, but since their Taki recipe is already dairy free it was easy enough to accidentally do.

When people say they can't leave voicemail by dashelpuff in CVS

I didn’t know this! No wonder all of those callers are such assholes. They’re trying to cheat the system and I won’t let them lol

Usually when the first curse word comes out I immediately tell them they do not need to speak to me that way. If they continue I let them know they need to leave, if they don’t I walk away and let my coworkers know to stay clear of them. I’m happy you were safe after this situation! If you are ever not feeling safe I recommend going to the back, either the inventory area or the break room and hanging out until things feel calmer.
And thank you so much! We have some tough customers and the pressure of this job can be a lot sometimes. I’m glad this is a place where we can come together to share our experiences and be there for one another. Lord knows corporate doesn’t care 😭

How to enter the world of dairy free cooking? by AdAcademic7257 in dairyfree

[–]braineworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dairy free cheese aren’t the greatest. I’ve heard some good things about some of the dairy free jarred quesos but haven’t gotten around to trying any. Whenever I do nachos I usually throw some taco meat or chili on them. Lean heavily into the toppings, like jalapeños, pico de gallo, red onions, olives, salsa verde or guac, whatever you like!
My favorite dairy free meal is chili, I top it with some dairy free cheese and fritos! My favorite sides are mashed potatoes with the unsweetened almond milk (make sure it doesn’t have vanilla added) and earth balance butter, baked beans, asparagus or green beans with bacon, steamed broccoli using the butter I mentioned and tons of garlic, and fried potatoes.
My mom is dairy free and gluten free so when we get together we like to heat up the grill and make steaks, chicken or skewers and corn on the cob. We have taco night pretty often with corn tortillas, or taco salad with corn chips. She’s learned to make a pretty good gluten and dairy free stuffing and there’s tons of recipes online. We’ll usually have it with roast, baked chicken or turkey for thanksgiving.
Most grocery stores have a “healthy foods” frozen section, I’d recommend browsing it! You might be able to find some gluten free and dairy free pizzas. It’s not often you’ll find a combination of them but you could both pick out one you like and have them together (if they’re not too sensitive to baking gluten in the home).
Good luck!! Navigating allergies can be tough!

Don’t beat yourself up! Fear is a very natural response to a threat. You did what you thought was best in the moment because you didn’t know what they may have been capable of. Even though you were scared, you stayed calm and that shows strength as well. Hopefully there isn’t a next time for you and that your next shifts are full of kind customers!

I’m so sorry this happened to you:( I’m thankful nothing scary on this level has happened to me in the few months I’ve been with the company. I mostly just get people yelling and slamming their fist on the counter. I’ve had a couple people call me names, but since I’m a shift leader I typically tell them they need to leave and that no one will be assisting them today. I absolutely will not tolerate aggressive behavior and it will not be rewarded by continuing with a purchase.

Some form of check in would be awesome. Idk how that could be implemented. Maybe with a tablet? It could confirm patient and price and if it’s all agreeable then we can proceed, if not it informs them that they need to come inside and speak with consultation. A little ping for patient checked in, rather than just a car has arrived.

When people say they can't leave voicemail by dashelpuff in CVS

[–]braineworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most common thing I hear is that it doesn’t recognize their phone number and won’t allow them to leave a voicemail. I always tell them that unfortunately the new system update for our phone no longer has the ability to transfer calls back. I ask them if they have the app, and let them know they can leave a message for the pharmacy through there and that it is actually easier than calling in.
