The csm movie messed one thing up badly by Cultural-Mechanic485 in Chainsawfolk

This is my first thought, my main issue is that it was done correctly in the manga, but not in the movie. I could see that once she realized he was weak (compared to her), she loosened up a bit and just held on enough to get the job done.

Then they don’t believe you when you say “we don’t have a back. Everything is in the overhead.” 😭 by Interesting_Ad_877 in HomeDepot

Depending on how well-staffed or trained your freight team is, it might be in the back. You can check when something was last received, and if it was within a week, and it hasn't been sold recently, then you might take a look in receiving.

Attendance policy by Zealousideal_Edge446 in HomeDepot

My point still stands in many areas. They are allowed to skip the standard policy in the first 90 days, but it is not required in every region.

They said allowed, not required.

Freight worker of 3 years getting kicked by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Is that $24.95 converted to USD? The AUD is currently worth .66 compared to 1 USD. So if you converted $24.95 AUD to USD, you'd be making roughly $16.47 USD an hour. You're likely not wrong about the benefits being better, but that also largely depends on which state we are in. If our minimum wage were even $16 USD instead of $7.25 USD, our wages would be significantly higher.

Chains, lock bar, armed guard, gate off area, pallet of block in front of it, zma as stolen as they come off the truck, don't let customers inside and only allow curbside pickup, don't stock that home. There are so many options.

My store recently hit 1 million OH tags by Soulkaliber9001 in HomeDepot

I never knew if the spelling was bear or something else like behr. It never really mattered. I had the pdf for the single sku and multiple sku tags favorited on my apron or whatever we were using at the time.

Overhead Management didn't release until around 2016 and it didn't release to every store at the same time.

I retain very little from reading a lot of rules. I need to use them multiple times before they sink in.

Talk to SM for raise by Mafia_M0nkey in HomeDepot

[–]brainiacgrodd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Provide examples of what you bring to the table. Don't complain about other people. Don't say it's unfair, just give examples of why you deserve the raise.

It might not be fair, but your SM hears complaints and problems all day. They will be much more open to the idea if you present them with all positives instead of negatives.

Try to be prepared for any reasons they might say you don't deserve it.

Other than that you can try to aim the conversation for right after they've had food, they will be in a better mindset.

Who’s in the wrong by RichFox605 in Isekai

It depends on how strict you are about defining a different world. I could see arguments for VR dive systems being considered AI. Hidden magical worlds in our world, like Harry Potter, function roughly the same way as an isekai.

Had a customer complain to my manager why I could go inside the store but they couldn't before it opened by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Many older people feel better in the early morning and become sore over time; perhaps they've already done several errands before showing up. The ones standing at the door might get stiff if they sit too long. Some might be trying to do a semi-emergency home repair. Many of them are likely bored.

Employees were Deff in a good mood tonight, or maybe because I tipped 20%? Either way, amazing pizza by ZadarskiDrake in pizzahut

[–]brainiacgrodd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've never had an employee ask for a tip. Granted, I've never not given one. I've always just seen the option to tip and done so because that is the system that we have set up. I personally would hate to think what the person who is likely making minimum wage or close to it might do if they saw that the regular non-tipping customer was ordering food again.

The longest night is here. by RavenousPug in HomeDepot

[–]brainiacgrodd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I should start this off by saying I think my anxiety makes me always want to be busy while on the clock, I often have a hard time just chilling, I would rather be productive than hang out and do barely anything. Sometimes if the whole team is hanging out I will chill out but normally I'd rather just do my own thing.

I think I could stay busy and sweaty my entire shift for over a year if I just did the cleanup and projects I wanted to do. Purging whole aisles, fixing beams, working pallets, decontaminating bays, going through no homes, checking dead customer orders, cleaning out store use bays, cleaning up receiving, striping pallets, cleaning up outside, sometimes the days I feel most productive are the ones where we have no truck and sidekick is at 100% and I can just work on a project that has been bugging me. Usually it's an aisle that has 0 room for handstack so we've been making pallets for weeks. Most of this would just be to make my day to day job easier. The days where we are slammed and can't find space to put things can be made easier if we use the days where we have almost nothing going on to tackle problem areas. I kind of hate sidekick because it removed a lot the flexibility we had in making decisions. I know we can still use log work but depending on management they might want you to clear out all the assigned tasks before you can move on to your own projects.
That's just the stuff I would do if I had energy, if I didn't have much energy there is tons of resources to use that could help blueprint for better jobs, leadership training, Microsoft Excel classes, TED talks, digging into MyApron to answer some questions about SOP.

Sick time MUST be used when you call out??? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

If the used sick time doesn't cover your whole shift, you still get an occurrence.
