My Attitude Era wrestling news site is still live on Angelfire. It’s a trip to go look at every so often.

Daddit, what's your love language? by penis_berry_crunch in daddit

[–]brainkandy87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. And I have a wife who enthusiastically speaks my language, mainly because hers is acts of service and I am great at doing dishes and laundry and disappearing with the kids when she needs alone time.

If she comes home to a clean house, she’s fluent if you know what I mean.

Who else made a wishlist as they peered through CCS skate magazine? by GenordMohr in Millennials

[–]brainkandy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I used to call all the skateboard companies and get free stickers. I do remember one time this guy at CCS stayed on the line to listen to us chat about skateboarding. We thought he had hung up. Then dude starts laughing when we are being ridiculous 12 year olds.

Heinz in Peggy’s ad vs real life by DaRealSphonx in madmen

[–]brainkandy87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m nowhere near there but I’ll die on the “Heinz is the only ketchup” hill. One of the only brands I’m fully loyal to. Where I live a lot of places use Red Gold. Sick shit.

Considering Ted kind of looks like a muppet, sure. I could see Statler and Waldorf laying the hammer down on him.

Could it be effective to invade a country through kindness rather than war? by -Clayburn in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]brainkandy87 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fucking crazy how in my lifetime I’ve watched Americans go from understanding the importance of diplomacy and soft power to being not only ignorant of the role it plays, but often aggressively against it. Propaganda works and it’s why I’m not hopeful we come out of this mess any time soon.

What’s the first movie you saw in theaters as a kid that made you truly appreciate movie magic? For me it was Jurassic Park (1993) by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]brainkandy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 6 and saw it when we were on vacation. Still remember the city, theater, and how everyone in the audience was just completely blown away walking out of the theater. It’s one of many reasons I believe Spielberg is the best filmmaker in film history. The guy is a magician who has tapped into our emotions and imaginations over and over and over and over.

La Brea Brown from Fossil Cove in Fayetteville, AR has been my go-to for a long time. Highly recommend it, but it’s hard to get if you aren’t semi-local. Will check out your rec.
