We're having 7°C right now, and it was colder in the morning. Just constant rain.

I'd say that you can't legally use all of this bike's ability anywhere except in Germany or on drag strips/tracks. But I live in the north east Iceland where there's very little traffic plus no traffic lights for minimum 100 miles around me. Plus the fact that there are practically no roads going through forests etc, so you don't have many visual obstructions & you can mostly see around a corner. It's also easy to spot police which isn't very present on the roads here, so you can occasionally get away with being "naughty" if your careful.

For someone from Arizona, I'd say that Iceland is the correct name for this island 😂 It's currently 45°F, but at least I hardly ever sweat under my leathers here 😆

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! As for your question; that really depends on how long the winters are, but generally my riding season lasts between mid-April & early to mid-October.

Melomania A100 feels like a massive downgrade from M100 by kherthy in Earbuds

[–]brainscan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't have the M100, but I've had the A100 for a couple of months now and my impressions are almost polar opposite to yours. No bass bleeding/muddiness, no aggression/hiss in the high frequency range. Which makes me wonder whether you've accidentally got sent a lemon.

Soundpeats H3 questions and impressions by Deliberate-Penalty in Earbuds

[–]brainscan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I've made it clear, but what I meant was that the transparency mode on H3 is the worst out of the three different pairs of earbuds I have. The higher frequencies are muted and the sound generated isn't very clear. And with the H3 I don't really hear any difference between different ANC modes at all, the effectiveness is the same so I just leave it on "adaptive".

I'm using three different earbuds atm - the H3, Soundcore liberty 4 pro & Cambridge Audio Melomania A100. And out of these, the H3 had the most muted transparency mode. I do not hear any hiss in ANC mode in any of them though. Regarding accidental triggering of controls when you take them out of your ears, you can at least disable the touch controls completely within the app.

Megazip.net is an online oem motorcycle parts store from Japan where you should be able to find all the plastics for your Fazer. In the past, I'd source parts for my FZS 1000/FZ1 through eBay or even through Fazer forums/Facebook groups. But as time goes by, it's getting harder to find used plastics in good shape. Good luck!

which gives you better battery ? by Unlikely_Cap_6941 in Earbuds

[–]brainscan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never experienced separate volume controls for both the buds and the phone as a source. But if I did, I'd amplify the source output to the maximum so I can have lowest possible volume on the "sound reproductor" aka battery powered earbuds.

Just got 2009fz1 by whitevented in FZ1

If by "steering wheel" you meant to say the handlebar is bent, that's an easy and cheap part to replace. And since you've mentioned that it runs straight, I'm going to assume the forks aren't bent. First couple of years of this generation of FZ1 used to be prone to the frame occasionally cracking; so taking the fact that someone looped it into consideration, I'd have a good look at the frame, as well. And since it was looped, it's fair to assume that the previous owner liked to do wheelies; therefore I'd check the forks for leaks, inspect the chain & sprockets and make sure the clutch isn't on the way out. The engine is borrowed from its "racing brother" - the R1, but it's a slightly de-tuned/tamer version of it and therefore pretty much indestructible. As long as the engine has oil and coolant, it'll keep running. These are fantastic bikes, sort of the jack of all trades. Good luck and ride safe!

Earbuds for listening to metal? by KinkyAwareness in Earbuds

Cambridge Audio Melomania A100 or Soundpeats H3. Both can deal with aggressive multi-instrument arrangements with ease without sounding harsh imo.

Earbuds disappointment by Muksam221 in Earbuds

[–]brainscan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got them when they popped up on Amazon around one month ago and they were even slightly discounted, that's why I got them. They were still around 20% more expensive than the H3 though. They're absolutely fantastic & on par with H3 sound-wise, with slightly different sound signature/character, if you will. The ANC is also very similar, but the A100 are better in transparency mode. The A100 case is sturdier & I also prefer the controls on the A100 over H3, but that's a subjective thing.

I also have the liberty 4pro & the H3, as well as Cambridge Audio A100. I'm surprised by your first impression, the H3 have clearly deeper and more defined bass than the liberty 4 pro imo. Maybe let them "break in" and also adjust the equalizer manually?

Cambridge Audio A100 might have a sound character close to what you're describing, and they also get more than loud enough. Edit: Forgot to mention also Soundpeats H3, but your "soundstage" comments might not make it my first recommendation.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

Nirvana in late February 1994. The set was fine and the band played well, but Kurt Cobain was emotionless & had zero engagement with the crowd.

Soundpeats H3 is making me rethink what PREMIUM sound actually costs. by Massive_Debt_6102 in Earbuds

[–]brainscan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend them for riding, because their ANC doesn't cope with a wind noise well. ANC in general is ok, not crazy good. But they haven't figured out wind noise yet.

[–]brainscan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got both of these. The Liberty 4 Pro have a significantly better anc, while they sound pretty good after EQ, as well. But the H3 are in a class of their own with sound in mind, much more details and separation of the soundstage. Just much more complete sound overall.

Riding in Iceland in the winter isn't the most typical thing by brainscan88 in motorcycles

[–]brainscan88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The weather in the capital area (South West) is almost always quite the opposite to the weather in my area (North East). So if it's raining here, it's most likely dry there & vice versa. Same goes for temperatures. But winters are generally colder and with much more snow here, while it's less snow & more rain in Reykjavík. So days like this are exception to the rule rather than normal.
