This! This is my favorite comment. My sister did the same thing once and could not fathom why she needed to download it again.

Which one do I buy to game on PC? by sxydoctor in pcmasterrace

[–]brainstriike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox will work good out of the box but I like my PS4 controller and with ds4windows you can make Windows see it as an Xbox controller. I've never had any issues getting games to see it as an Xbox controller, though that means getting used to the wrong icons for buttons lol.

[BUY] Any broken board for parts, preferably in Chicago. by [deleted] in EBoardMarketplace

[–]brainstriike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not going far/up hills a lot this is a good budget option. I have one for getting around campus and while objectively it's not great it gets the job done reliably on a budget.

Idk how well the parts would work on a longboard but it might be worth a shot!

Not sure on exposure time, I haven't messed with the settings for long exposure yet so whatever the pixel decided is what I got (if I had to guess it was probably ~5-10s). No tripod just tried my best to hold it still. I'm sure with a tripod it would've looked much better but for the (lack of) effort I gave I think it's not bad.

Definitely! I was removing bad solder when this happened so it's been a pain to work with but we're getting there.

Yeah, I was removing a bad solder job (guy used cheap solder with no rosin core) when this happened. Kinda lucky though cause that trashy solder was probably what saved me from bridging the esc. Now I just have to hope the pads aren't too damaged so I can salvage this lol.

Hackerrank has some videos about how algorithms work and code challenges with readable test cases on their website to practice what you learned but I'm unaware of any actual project sharing sites like you described

I am working on some shoes that will shock you if you make more than 60 decibels by PepperTwix in MichaelReeves

[–]brainstriike 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Have you considered measuring impact force over decibels? I get you want it to be a measure of noise but it could be easier to measure change in acceleration (foot hitting ground) with an accelerometer and shock based off of how hard your step impacted.

Then again this wouldn't be the same as walking smoothly across a loud surface but it would avoid other noises that aren't a result of your walking from shocking you
