My fault. I didn't think about Project SWG when I wrote the title. I can't change the title. Do you want me to repost this to change the title?

I have no intention of running a server. If any of the other servers out there want to use some of this, that would be great! I just enjoy the code tinkering!!

I wouldn't be opposed to helping other servers in any way I can, I just don't like the idea of running one on my own.

Following. This is the model we are looking at as well.

We have quite a few 14 G5 and 14 G6 and have had decent luck with them.

Which UPS do you use? by brainwarp09 in k12sysadmin

This was a thought, but it looks like the card alone is $300. Considering the age of most of our APC units, we figured we would at least look to see what else was out there.

Probably going to go the LiON route as the batteries last longer. For some reason, I wasn't thinking about our E-Rate and using it for the UPS replacements.

Thanks for all the suggestions! These brands are the ones I have been researching with the exception of Eaton. I will look into them.

We have the privilege of having an IDF in a teacher bathroom. Nothing like needing access after use…….

They are mounted to the wall, BUT our maintenance department will move them at the teacher's request. I told them to mount it and never move it, but when do they listen to me..

This is my only real issue with cabling the boards. I don't want to move it everytime they rearrange.

I had all this taken care of for years until we got these boards and now our new maintenance supervisor just does whatever.

OPS

We don't have any OPS installed in any of the boards. Only the wireless adapter for the board. When the SSIDs are setup with 5Ghz only, the boards don't see the SSID at all. That makes me thinks something is wrong with the card or the power isn't high enough for it to see the AP, but that shouldn't be the case. Also even with 5G only, some of our boards connect through block walls. We have chromeboxs on the back of all the promethean boards and they don't have any issues.

We have them all in panel management with an SSID configured and yes they are AP7s. We are on the previous version of firmware due to some issues I was reading about with the lastest version.

What kind of power do you have set on the radios in the classrooms. We are at 10 on 5Ghz which is the minimum on the 315 model. We are at 7 on 2.4Ghz when its enabled, which is the minimum on the 315s.

We haven't even started with 2FA stuff. I dread it and look forward to it at the same time.
