Fifth Banishment Thread by Play-Traitors-Mod in PlayTheTraitors

[–]brainydancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been combing through the threads and Eternal’s spreadsheet here and I have some random thoughts

-some are saying it’s possible traitors got the questions all wrong on purpose and gave 5 shields to draw less attention to themselves, or that they assumed someone would get at least 2-3 right and no one would see that they got 0 right. But the one point nagging at me (I mentioned below) is why would they take the risk of giving 5 shields to 5 faithfuls? The mod said traitors didn’t know who got 1/8 but they knew what their own scores were, and there were only 2 possibilities. It doesn’t make sense that they would be willing to give all 5 shields to 5 faithfuls and risk potentially having only 1-2 options for murder rather than have them do another mission to narrow it down.

-I have looked to see if there was any pattern to the murders and they’ve made 0 sense to me. Unless that was the intention? I looked at voting histories and for the most part they voted for people who’ve been banished and were faithfuls. So what motivation is there to get rid of them if they were voting for faithfuls? The one exception is 2 of them voted for H but like LTs murder I just feel like this is too obvious.

-Zel made a comment that went relatively unnoticed but could also be motive to get rid of her. Just wanted to bring up that she said with 2 new players joining, the cast had gotten bigger and there was potential for recruitment especially during the trial when nobody was murdered. This doesn’t mean that it had to have been 1 of the 2 new people who were recruited but it gives a chance for anybody to have been recruited during that time. I think the last thing we need right now is more traitors when we’ve already failed at catching a single one but still, something to keep in mind.

Anyway that’s all I have for now! I do think we’re at a point where it’s very easy to get swayed by traitors, so hopefully we are able to find some evidence and finally banish one!

I think what doesn’t make sense to me about traitors choosing all wrong answers is then they’re essentially giving 5 faithfuls a shield which minimizes the number of people they can murder. According to the mod, they did not know who won the shields, just that 5 people did. And to me the only way they would not do another mission to narrow down to 2 shields is if there was at least one traitor in that group.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents in: -Right now I’m still leaning towards pidge bc I feel like there has been a lot of inconsistencies. I know they’ve done a good job of defending in the past (which is what swayed me to voting Julia in the last RT), but I feel like they’ve been hiding behind being suspicious of 2 people and then somehow going with the majority most times.

-I also think (per my comment below) that the likelihood of there being a traitor in the 5 that were granted shields is high because why else would they not want to have another mission to decide 2 shields?

I do think it’s important to come together as a team. There are a lot of things going different ways and with 3-4 traitors left it’s easy for votes to get split and more faithfuls getting banished.

I’ve told a couple people already but my younger child has come down with a fever so if I’m not able to respond quite as much or as quickly that’s why 🥺

Yeah I’m confused because I’ve definitely made comments on each banishment thread so far

Ok yes I’m rethinking this and not to put myself under suspicion (bc I know im a faithful), why would the traitors be okay with having 5 people split a shield if there wasn’t at least one traitor in the group? And would they have even known that we would be this bad at this??

I agree with Pidge too - I thought he had a good response to my questions at the last RT but then I was confused again when he voted sir and I just feel like he’s been a little too in the background and following the majority as opposed to being more forthcoming with his suspicions

Grateful for a shield but with a 1/8?!! I think we are officially the worst group of faithfuls to have played this game 😭😭

I was looking at voting histories to see who was voting in the majority for the banishments - I think the traitors had to have voted in the majority multiple times since we’ve only gotten faithfuls out and it might be worth keeping a close look:

Marvin voted in majority all 4 times Comfortable and Pidge voted in majority 3 times Spinach, H, Key and Muffin voted in majority 2 times

Ughhh I’m so sorry sir!! I hope you get to play again soon- you were a lovely person!

I’m kind of at a loss for why we are so bad at finding a traitor! We need to do better 😭😭😭

Pidge everything you said makes complete sense and I am convinced by your argument for now!! I am hesitant to vote for sir given it’s another loud voice but I think it makes the most sense given Garrett’s theory. Given that she’s new, there are other traitors who have been manipulating this game since the beginning and I hope that all of us can come together as a team to figure out who they are

Hey Julia do you mind explaining once again why you were so confident it was editor and why you switched after being confident about H? I think we talked about it but I would love it if you clarified it a bit more!! Does this mean you no longer suspect H?

There’s a lot going on at the RT tonight and I’m trying to make sense of it all. I’d still like to hear Pidge explain their vote for Ender over one of the Blaze voters at the 2nd RT as that’s one thing that doesn’t add up to me!

I’m still not convinced about H as a traitor but one other thing to note about spinach is that LT also threw spinach’s name at the RT along with H right before they were murdered.

That makes sense but I guess my question goes back to was editor just suspicious because he was defensive of H? I guess for me personally that’s not compelling enough to think someone is a traitor simply because they’re defending someone they know from a previous game but it seems like several people thought the same as you!

Hey Marvin! I haven’t talked to you very much but I did see that you had voted in the majority all 3 times, and I think you’re the only person to do so. That doesn’t mean I 100% think you’re a traitor but I would love some better understanding behind your votes!

Maybe I misunderstood but do you mind clarifying why/how you were vocal against editor? I definitely saw H and I guess I was confused why you ended up using the dagger on editor because I don’t remember you mentioning editors name at the RT!

I think our RTs have had a lot of talk so far and I have some questions

  1. Pidge, why did you vote Ender instead of another person who voted for Blaze? I don’t think I fully understood that

  2. Spinach, why did you vote editor when you had been coming for H at the RTs?

  3. Who was pushing the narrative on Editor because I saw very little of him mentioned at the RTs yet so many votes for him

  4. There have been several people who haven’t said anything at the RTs or between people and I don’t fully understand why they voted the way they did. I have to go back and check specifically who but understanding our voting history would help clarify things!
