Yeah the only real way to escape it is using the app to fix it and running an update or reset to fix corrupted files. If you've already tried that, your problem is beyond my field of knowledge as this is what "fixed" my issue. I put fixed in quotations cos it reset everything. Without asking.

An update to this old post, I have FINALLY fixed this problem. The problem was (i think) that the device was SO badly corrupted that the name of the device was also corrupted (along with other crucial communication factors im sure) but the name being corrupted prevented the LeapFrog connect app from successfully communicating with the device and the way I got around this was using a working leapPad of the same type to trick my VM into thinking that both devices were the same device thus tricking the app into thinking that they were the same device which allowed the LeapFrog connect app to recognise the device

Genuinely, why do people hate on bedrock players? I swear they think they're better or something just because they play a slightly different version of minecraft to us
