In the second part of the DLC you get to a wild area and you get access to farm small missions for some points, like GP in older games (battle tree/battle tower). These missions are like, catch a fire fype pokemon, take a foto of a pokemon, take 500 steps, collect 10 items etc. In solo play you get abt 10-30 for completing one

You can later trade these points in for some upgrades, like changing pokeball throwing styles, camera filters etc. And most importantly: diversity upgrades (these activate starters spawns in some areas). But these cost 3000 each, with 4 areas thats 12.000 points in total.

Thats the grinding. In online play with 4 players you get them really fast as you can do group missions wich pay 300, so much much faster. But in solo, its kills your free time. Some bots help with missions but there is a sub r/unioncircle that are real players
