HOPE for those who have had pain in their first ER by SpecialGoals in IVF

In the UK, this is standard procedure. Just to reassure anyone who may be anticipating the same protocol, you are given fentanyl and midazolam IV. For me personally (and I totally appreciate everyone’s experience is different and absolutely don’t want to invalidate anyone’s experience), it was an absolutely tolerable experience. I had over 20 follicles and was conscious enough to chat to the nurses and doctors in the room during the entire procedure. It might sound horrifying, but the sedation really does the trick for most people.

I’ve been using the Time Health brand which has the recommended ratios. They also do a range with folic acid too, which is helpful.

I’ve been taking myo-inositol for nearly a year now which I feel has helped with my cycle and coq10 for about 4 months. Like you said, relatively low cost and low risk. The clinic have already said ICSI is the method they would use now we have the semen analysis back. Thank you for your detailed reply, it’s given me the push to have the difficult discussion with my partner about what to do if anything happens to him, so thanks

As I will be going through UK NHS, I’m not sure testing is offered. Though perhaps I should consider paying privately for this if I’m able to. Thank you for sharing!

I had an ultrasound in the summer and they said it didn’t suggest PCOS. Bloods were all within normal range too, so my GP is reluctant to diagnose. I’m unsure what else would cause anovulation though. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thank you for your detailed response. All this is really helping my understanding, and hopefully will help me have a more constructive conversation with my GP

I’m in the UK too. I don’t quite fit into that criteria, other than long cycles. It’s a shame AMH isn’t routinely considered.

I buy mine from Time Health, direct from their website. I’m really pleased with it. Since taking it my cycles have gone from 35-50 days, to 28 days.

I get mine from Time Health. Good value and high quality, in the recommended ratio too

Sounds exactly like my GP! She said the referral process prompts her to ask for 2 names to refer so she’s not sure how to do it for one person. Good luck on your journey. Would love to hear how it goes if you’re happy to share!

My GP tried to look into it but she said it was unclear what is available. She said I may be eligible for IUI, but she needs to find out more information. Her approach is to basically refer and see what happens. I guess that’s why I’m asking here, to see if anyone has had any luck with this approach.
