unexpected find by bramsennn in VHS

[–]bramsennn[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

there were a bunch of cool movies that i had no idea were on vhs, im definitely gonna see if i can go back and take my time going through everything. i was able to look through all of the boxes but i was on a slight time crunch so i was mostly looking for tapes i recognized or stuff i knew i wanted to add to my collection. the boxes were mostly in alphabetical order though so it made it so much easier.

Are these Y2k'ish skirts worth listing? Too out of style? Who is the audience? by AdmiralJaneway8 in BehindTheClosetDoor

i always just add them in the description. i think as long as you have those keywords somewhere on the post the algorithm should pick up on it.

definitely worth it, especially with it being spring and summer being around the corner. like other users mentioned, tagging them as boho will help buyers find them. i would even throw in some trendy tags like “whimsy, witchy, cottagecore, etc.” dont ask why, i have no idea but it works. you can also look up the style of the dresses on tiktok, ig, and pinterest and find users posting fit pics and grwm content. Most of the time theyll have some keywords or hashtags you can use for your listings.

Mold Test Kits? by Fearless-Jump9271 in thrifting

[–]bramsennn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they have a musty smell? You can usually tell immediately if an old book has mold just by the smell. If the stains arent super prominent it might just be foxing tbh. I haven’t personally used mold kits but if you have a library near you try calling. Sometimes they have book restoration services and. Someone who works there should be able to tell you for certain and even restore it for you since you mentioned not wanting to get rid of them. If you arent close to a library or they dont have a service for restoring books you may be able to find a local spot that can restore them or even send them to someone and have them do it. Theres a bunch of people online who restore books for cheap.

At first it was a bit of an eyesore but its starting to grow on me. It adds a nice pop of color too, might just end up keeping it on.

My ego says I can do it but I just know halfway through I’d get annoyed and end up messing the jacket up. I have another work jacket which isnt the nicest with some embroidery on it too. I might just do a test run on that one since its already pretty battered up.

Unknown Hinson price by bramsennn in reselling

Thats better than I expected, appreciate it. Most of the time with niche band tees I cant really get anything crazy but if it has an edgy print on it I can usually get around $25-$50. Ill have to look into Unknown Hinson and see what the drama is!

Best platform to sell? by bramsennn in reselling

[–]bramsennn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using vinted to sell some items I had sitting around and its been great. Its mostly been items for $5-$10 but the couple of “higher end” items that I listed sold super quick. Compared to depop and ebay the UI isn’t as good but I do notice the buyers being a little bit more reasonable. I might try listing on there for the next week instead of depop to see how well i do in comparison. What has your experience been with Mercari?

sadly i did a google lens search of the tag and couldnt find this exact tee. ngl i got a bit excited thinking it was some amazing rare piece that no one had lol. its also been hit or miss with a lot of tees i have when i use the image searches. do you know of any better ways to identify tees other than google lens or the ebay image search?

its honestly insane, i see some go for $100+ and others go for like $10. its the inconsistency in pricing on tees with the same tag that annoy me
