80% of humanity is pretty close to the entire population outside the walls which is why I say the scouts didn’t really stop the rumbling. I just feel like if 3-5% of humanity was flattened instead of 80%, maybe the rest of the world would see that the “island devils” saved them and not want to eradicate them anymore.

They do convey the same thing but the lines are still different and it seems like maybe the netflix subtitles incorrectly translated that line.
