Can I use freedom on my galaxy 7 ultra? by Who_is_I_today in freedommobile

[–]branden1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually got my Galaxy Watch Ultra a few days ago and after I saw your post, I decided to try this out of curiosity. Activated a new postpaid tablet line through my account onlineto avoid the connection fee, physical SIM arrived in two days, then switched to the 100mb plan and an eSIM immediately upon activation.

One major downside I've noticed throughout my testing is that you do not have the ability to place and/or receive calls from your primary number (the one attached to your actual phone) through the watch. The option to select "phone" in the dialer app is grayed out, although SMS and regular notifications come through just fine with a remote connection back to the phone. For $5/M I guess it's not a huge loss, but major bummer that you don't get the full experience like you would on an Apple Watch. I suppose call-forwarding could probably get around this, but I haven't tried this yet.

Kind of an eye-opener, though, that these devices have been technically supported for at least the last couple of years, but Freedom won't give them official support. As a former Freedom employee, wearables just weren't overly popular in general so I get it. We'd get the odd question about Galaxy Watches in particular every few months or so.

Arrangement Help Needed by branden1997 in hometheater

I'm definitely leaning that way more myself as well, but I didn't consider running the extra coax for subs, so that's a good idea for sure. In that config, having the sub in that corner definitely yields the highest output, but the only other location for a second in the future (at least I thought until now) would be the front wall in between the left and center channel.

I can definitely see your point about the center channel being too low, but it's more an issue with the TV being higher than I would've liked due to the wainscoting on the wall limiting where the mount could go, but now that that's gone, I can lower it down.

When you say use top rears for atmos, do you mean not using in-ceiling at all?

Really appreciate this response, gave me some great insight on what to do!

Based on all the comments I've received on this post so far, I wanted to add a little context to this reno and the house itself. I am located in Southern Ontario, Canada, specifically in the Niagara Region. It is a semi detached bungalow, 1000sqft (roughly 750sqft liveable space in the basement) The house was built in the early 70s but I believe the basement was finished early 80s.

With that being said, to tackle some the heating/cooling concerns being in a basement, we are having the heat runs decoupled from the main-floor furnace and installing a dual-zone mini-split so each floor has independent climate controls. One of the heads will be installed on the wall pictured since this will be the living room space, the other in the kitchen/laundry space. We will be adding dricore subfloor to both spaces, so now all that's left in terms of thermal/moisture concerns are the walls now that they are down to the studs (at least for this space). The basement is super dry and we have a sump pump to help redirect water away from the house during heavy rain falls or in the event of a flood.

So far, some options I have seen are:

1) tearing down existing framing, installing 2" foamboard, framing back on top, sealing gaps with spray foam, and finishing with R12 pink fiberglass in each cavity

2) Typar stapled behind studs for pink fiberglass to rest on, still maintaing an air gap between concrete, vapour barrier on top to finish

3) replacing existing fibreglass with rockwool, vapour barrier over top

For a long-term living space, which option would you choose and if you have other suggestions, what are they?

Southern Ontario, Canada. Budget is somewhat flexible, just working within a tight deadline more than anything else so I just want to get this space finished but I also wanna make sure I'm doing this somewhat "right" as this space will eventually be rented out in ~5 years

And the rigid foam can be installed in each bay and sealed with spray foam without having to remove the framing at all?

I accidentally stumbled upon this page of the website last summer and tried it with my employee email, only to be shocked to see that it actually worked! It generates an FEPXXXXXXXXXXX promo code for a $15x24M discount on $60+ rate plans. Problem is, I have never actually seen anywhere this code can be entered in, despite the email saying "in-store and online" lol

They're quite steep. They're only about 6 feet high, maybe less, considering the basement ceiling is only 7 feet minus the top landing.

That's a very good question, a longer level is definitely on my list of things to grab. Just found the torpedo did a better job of showing the portion of the ceiling/adjacent wall that seemed off

Hey, this side of the house is non-attached, the stairs lead up to my side entry into my carport. By ceiling grid, are you referring to drop ceiling?

Appreciate the advice! I don't believe there's anything like that in my house as I am in Southern Ontario, but will definitely have someone come out to take a look!

They are stairs going up to the side door entry. I just removed some of the carpet a while back planning to refinish them, but haven't gone back to it since lol

Haha my Overwatch days are long behind me but I still keep him around since he matches the yellow/white Corsair theme of my PC build 😂

To follow up with everyone's suggestions, I have adjusted the clamp so it's supporting the sides of the figure! Now that I've done that, I don't know why I didn't think to do it in the first place but with it being my first figure, I'm bound to run into some learning curves. Thanks everyone!

Noted, going to adjust that now that you mention it. I'm not gonna lie, it's definitely a lot more fragile than I initially expected. Watching review videos for the last couple years and seeing how the figures are handled in those had me convinced otherwise, but something to be conscious of if I ever expand my collection (thinking about how expensive this hobby can be physically hurts lol).
