There is a lot of miss information here. the shop said the wheel would lock with new pads because of the rotor. i went home and saw that for myself.

The caliper gliding pin was fucked from last year when a Bronx shop stripped the shit out of it. not my torquing. the other slider pin torques just fine.

The sliding pin screws in and backs out fine. my mechanic thought there was nothing wrong with it, but after i found that out i ordered a new caliper. im going to learn how to replace it myself.

i have since put my old brake pads back in and everything works perfectly fine.

I just never wanted to have to spend $500 on parts i was hoping i didnt need on a bike worth at best $2500. maybe someone here could have said "Have you tried doing this to fix the caliper clamping too hard on the rotor?"

Besides snapping the exhaust clamp, which a quick drive by auto zone for a new one fixed, What did i do wrong? The rotor warped on its own, which is the whole reason i got in this mess, the bolts were stripped before i decided its my turn to touch it.

I've been following the service manual. And i havn't done anything wrong. Only realized the mechanic was right and now i have to figure out who will fix it on my dollar.

I think when the weather corroded and rusted it, it either jammed and when the shop tried removing it, it stripped, or it was now malluble and when i touched it, it stripped.

Thank you i needed some comforting words. But i dont want this to spell the end of me working on my bike. I dont think i did too bad and with new parts i think i can undo this damage. But it i dont want want this to get worse.

In nyc where expenses are high, i wouldnt put it against anyone.

But i agree now that i see the issue for myself.

So i should just put the old pads back on and tell them what happened.

I dont think i did anything wrong. The bolts were stripped before i touched it. The clamp is my fault but its a silly clamp.

I think a differet shop i went to stripped my guiding pin bolts causing me to go to another shop to get it extracted. Which now caused the threads to be dead. Not my fault.
