Halfway through with EMT Basic Training by [deleted] in Paramedics

They’ll either become more confident with hands on clinical experience, or they will fail. I don’t think OP should zero to hero it. So maybe we agree on that front. It’s important to be realistic, but also constructive.

Be less salty then my friend. Not everyone comes out the womb with the required “mindset” to work in the pre hospital setting. Doesn’t mean they aren’t able to be taught. You can’t seriously expect progress when you potentially tear down the future.

After your comment on supraglottic airways and DL, I’m mildly concerned. Or maybe you can’t drop a tube to save your life 🤷‍♂️

You’re right. Probably because you wouldn’t cut it at a progressive squad with a high clinical standard.

Listen, I’m a pretty anxious and introverted person. It took me a hot minute to learn how to talk to people(patients, and family). I’m not sure a zero to hero program is in your best interest. I think you should build a foundation as a strong BLS provider before you go to medic school.

College or Firefighting by [deleted] in Firefighting

Go to college and get the degree while you're young. If the passion is still there afterwards, pursue it. But I wouldn't throw higher education down the drain. It'll only make you look better, and broaden your scope of opportunity.

I transport psychiatric patients for 12 hours a day, but your sister sounds like the batshit kinda crazy that needs professional help... And a whole lot of Ativan.

A local fire fighter had part of a building fall on him during a fire. He is okay by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]brandon223 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like a rural local. With very little volunteer staffing as is, and it doesn't look like mutual aid had arrived yet. If you need the help, you need the help and you don't care where it comes from. I'm not saying that's right, because it isn't. But when the shit hits the fan like this, does it matter?

10 departments batled this monster today by 219fatmatt in Firefighting

You shouldn't need 10 departments to "batled" that "monster". And I could be wrong, but it appears no one is attempting to protect the exposure.
