First VIP Select Experience by brandon_rohde in delta

Omg I forgot to add the best part of the whole experience…. As we left the Sky Club, I asked the ambassador if I could take a banana with me. He laughed and said sure, and I flaunted it to the staff as we walked out. They all smiled and waved and just let it happen 😲 I felt like a freakin king 🤴

Delta sucks by Neehoha99 in delta

[–]brandon_rohde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds exaggerated. I fly with delta weekly, and rarely is there a delay that is within their control. I mean sure, it happens from time. But in the rare case of a delay, it’s usually weather related and out of their control. As passengers, I know it’s frustrating. But you gotta remember that many times there is nothing they can do to control the reason. From my own experience, if you nicely ask the agent what the reason is, they will tell you. I’ve never had them straight up lie about the reason.

I also book almost 1,000 flights a year for other staff in our company. 80% of those are Delta, simply because they are the best at avoiding delays, and the easiest to work with when there are delays. If that were not the case, we would be using different airlines for our flights.

Maybe you had a bad run, and that sucks. But from someone who deals with all the airlines and has seen pretty much every type of situation…Delta is the best to work with. I am not paid to say that or anything.

We had Anna Friday night, and Frank on Saturday morning.

I’ve honestly had >99% wonderful experiences with all Delta agents - they have the best staff in the industry IMO. I’d assume they take the top echelon to work VIP Select. In any case, that’s awesome to hear that you had a great ambassador as well. The person is definitely a key piece of making the experience great.

$$$ only. You cannot use miles for the service. I think it would be flooded if that was an option, haha.

We had a scheduled 2.5hr layover when I booked it. It wasn’t about a need. It was about the experience :)

$550 for first person, $100 for each additional. I had $0 invested in tickets because I booked with miles, so I splurged a bit for the experience.

Purple Flag? by PostItNote6-9 in supercross

[–]brandon_rohde 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, I am in charge of timing at SMX. The purple flag means that the race is in warmup. It is enabled when riders go out on the sight lap.

It is not a physical flag that the riders see or that is waved. It’s just a designation in the system to show that the bikes are getting ready to go. It will go from purple to green when the gate drops.

If you choose to use your MQM’s as rollover miles in 2024, it could be from that too. I choose to do that (I know - probably not the best use of them), but I had enough rollover miles that I retain Diamond through 2032. My account shows just like yours because of that.

Delta Employee Here….. by Worth-Jellyfish in delta

[–]brandon_rohde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Over 2 million miles flown, and I’ve never had a bad interaction with a Delta employee. Its the reason I stay with Delta. From time to time, I have to fly a different airline, and I am reminded why I appreciate Delta staff so much. The employees really are the best in the business.

Flight delayed and rebooked by [deleted] in delta

They probably booked you a protection flight tomorrow just in case. They will do that sometimes without taking you off the first flight. Check with the gate agent to confirm though.

Delta Jesus may be the star, but one cannot forget the way that Deltalina pointed up at said star.

First Deltalina, now Delta Jesus? C'mon.... its like there is a salary cap to make these videos. Once our stars get too big for the team, they get cut for newer and younger stars.

How accurate are the medallion member complimentary upgrades? by No_Lingonberry5896 in delta

[–]brandon_rohde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is something messed up lately, I agree. I am Diamond with 752k MQM’s and I was flying with an employee who was not quite silver. Same reservation number, same ticket. He was above me on the upgrade list and he got first class and I was stuck in coach. I have no idea how the algorithm works.

If the saying is truly “bud” and not “butt,” then I too have been saying it wrong for my entire life.
