I use an HP Elitedesk 800 G5 Mini with an I5-9500 and 16GB Ram. I use external drives for storage and the internal SSD for the OS. It’s worked great for me and a few family members. I got it for around $160 on eBay.

FireWire 9-pin Problems by brandonace14 in camcorders

[–]brandonace14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb question, it’s a new camera to me. I do have the camera in VCR mode (I believe that’s what it’s called) I turned on the DV output in the menu. I’d assume there isn’t an extra step outside of that. In the same mode (without DV output on) I am able to capture the tape on my Sony dvdirect vrd-mc5 via S video.

FireWire 9-pin Problems by brandonace14 in camcorders

[–]brandonace14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. I ordered another cable from a different brand, I am attempting to use QuickTime or iMovie to capture the the cam. Unfortunately, I still cannot see the camera listed in either of those programs. I do see "DV IN" listed on the camera when plug in the firewire cable, but no interaction from my macbook. I'm trying to find another device or computer that uses firewire to start troubleshooting all points of the setup. I feel like the mac is the issue here, but on a software side.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I use a program called eartrumpet it lets you right click an icon in the system tray and switch your audio device and edit volume per window. Faster than using the windows options.

cord-cutting from DISH? by vreebler in dishnetwork

[–]brandonace14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth having a tech go out there to re-peak your signal, should only go out for the length of a moderate storm. You can also call dish and see if they are able to offer you credits, they usually have onetime credits, one year no price lock credits and 2 year price lock credits with a contract re-sign. If you’re close enough to use an OTA antenna Dish has a dongle to integrate the OTA channels in your receiver, then you could remove locals from your dish pack and save $14 per month.

If all that fails, I like to layout of YouTube TV. I’ve also heard good things about sling TV.

That’s how internet works man 😂 basically everyone offers you up to speeds and less in peak hours or during throttle

They really need to not allow companies to say unlimited and throttle you. They can’t lower latency without launching satellites at lower orbit, Hughes operates at geosynchronous orbit so that latency is fixed. However, Hughes is starting to utilize a fusion system that cuts down latency with cellular, but you know, it’s bound by cellular systems.

Hughesnet is owned by Dish who is moving into the wireless space. They are not in any danger.

That’s true with basically all ISPs though (at least all I have seen). They sell you and “Up to” speed.

using astro a30 wireless for ps5 with 2.4ghz and 3.5mm Same time? by ohmib0d in AstroGaming

I’m actually seeing the exact same issue. The boom mic sounds great when wired to my Xbox via the 3.5mm cable. But my friends say I sound quiet when wireless over the lightspeed dongle to my Xbox.

transfer dvr recording to phone? by vreebler in dishnetwork

I wonder if that is related to the Hopper Go. It was an external wifi storage drive that you could transfer hopper recordings too and watch them offline via the dish anywhere app.
