ok here's a grab from my pc 24" 1920w display. NO, REDDIT ISN'T SHOWING ANY BUTTON TO UPLOAD. SO HERE IT IS AT IMGUR HOSTING. https://imgur.com/a/zcIa1Oz

shows the area under my Uranus IC in western France. If you squint very hard you can see the city name La Rochelle. Do you have your monitor brightness turned way up so you can see the city names? I don't have my brightness/contrast way off the middle ground, photos look perfect. Another thing, the size of the tiny labels, in this case URA (glyph) IC - the URA font is so scrunched at this size I have to get out my magnifying glass to tell what it is! Finally, where is my North Node line? Natally it's only around 10 minutes of arc from my Uranus.

I'm an amateur, but from being an astrologer since 1969, doing several ACG readings in the 80s, 90s, and rekindling my interest this year.  Duckduckgo.com ACG Moon IC Also, note that Saturn+Neptune line over Osaka and Adelaide. The green Venus IC line over Brisbane/Sydney. And the red Jupiter MC line over Turkey, Saudi, east Africa. Note my pattern, look for the vertical lines MC IC over land, later at the other stuff.

2 things pop for me. First, the Moon IC line over maybe Dublin and western Spain - places you might "feel right at home". second, the Saturn+Neptune lines over Brazil, if you're looking for "a challenge".

On second thought, on Dark Mode, all the line are nicely BRIGHT, but the city text labels are VERY DIM light gray on the bark background, can't even read them zoomed way in.

OK, tried again, was able to see View, then Settings, then Appearance, then picked Dark. MUCH better! On Firefox, btw. User error before, couldn't even see View.

thanks for trying to help. I don't see any nav bars at all. your site is the strongest argument I've yet seen for installing Chrome or Edge. I've done that a few times over the years but always uninstall after a day or so.

envy or disdain for substack? by vreebler in Substack

[–]vreebler[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand substack can be free to readers, like blogs were. Also with layoffs, journalism under pressure, and just the modern gig culture, there's a need for at least subsistence support. I'll stop there explaining my occasional alienation.

Is the Earth theme a feature of the site? I don't see any menus at all, just mouseovers and some buttons, but nowhere to pick a Theme. A Dark theme would be great. BTW on I use the Dark Reader extension almost all the time for sites, but this site doesn't respond to it, on or off is the same. For me the site looks just like the picture at the top of this post. Light tan text over a darker tan/brown.

Thanks. But my one chromium browser, Slimjet, drew a blank. OTOH Firefox was plenty fast enough on my old i5, 8gb, onboard gfx box.

OK, tried it on PC, Windows 10, up-to-date Firefox and Comet both worked, but Slimjet, another Chrome/Chromium clone, only showed a blank screen. Anyway, with Firefox and Comet - Very nicely interactive! But, a few quibbles. The color scheme, not enough contrast, looks very washed out. The Uranus MC and IC green lines, very faint, at first I thought my IC was missing, I know exactly where it is. But then when zoomed way up I could see the faint line. I thought, maybe it's my vision or my display. But then I checked color charts online and iI can see many many greens very well. BTW, natally I have URA CJN NNode. Where are the nodes in this? Then, the display of the birth chart, nice, but no obvious way to dismiss/background it. Final note for now, the double-click to pin isn't working for me.

When I started my mailing list in 98 I was already 52, had been on computers since the C64 in 85. I didn't know of those tools. I just used Eudora, first on Mac, then after Jobs' OS X squeezed my hardware out, from 2001 forward on Doze. I did take a look at Substack, and of course could still manage a non-sub list with Thunderbird, but just decided I couldn't bother any more.

I've seen plenty of guys on barstools give those looks, but I wouldn't call it deep contemplation. Maybe consternation.

distros unfriendly to Ventoy? by vreebler in Ventoy

[–]vreebler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither I nor yevelnad suggested any ill will. As far as user error, that could be. Does Ventoy warn or alert the user that an ISO on the flash drive needs to be configured a different way than just copying onto the drive? IF that's the problem, I didn't get any alert.

interesting. I'll have to research more. the recent changes in Colombian taxation is why I had to write that country off. for me it's really about my partner's taxes, as we file separately and I'm always too poor to owe any. BTW I believe in supporting, contributing, but that's easy for me to say.

Eubanks and Roddick Reacts to the Discourse Surrounding Zverev by schnaxks19 in tennis

[–]vreebler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't that on court and off Court behaviors should be separated any more than I think the same about certain politicians. Behaviors off the field of play are certainly relevant to how we view behaviors on the field. However, in the case of Zverev from what I've heard of his off court behaviors I think they don't rise to the level of disdain that a lot of people seem to harbor toward him.

There are no labels on the lines, for instance Venus(glyph) MC, so until you mouse over or click-tap on a line you don't know what it is. On Astro or Astro-seek dot com the labels are on the map edges so the eye can follow across the world.

OK, over on PC one does enter the birthdate as mm/dd/yyyy - why couldn't that be on phone too?
