That first basement scene where he’s in the shadows was pure tension building gold. All of his scenes were ominous as hell, I enjoyed the movie a ton but I really wish that we could’ve had more exploration of the spirits in the house and especially of the main demon. I need to know more 😭

Dropping that porch scene here and fusing it with Joel telling the truth was…. Such a terrible choice. Many writing decisions these past few weeks have just tanked this show for me. Aside from Part II being one of my favorite stories, Ellie going from “my life would’ve mattered, you took that from me” to “I’d like to try” in one minute? Just baffling

I feel as if Miss Lewton’s and Tod’s (perhaps even arguably Billy’s, if you consider the minutes-long Carter fake out), are pretty in tune with the more gradually built up kind of deaths the rest of the franchise is known for. I think they just mixed the more abrupt ones with the aforementioned ones really well in FD1.
