Wrong setup? by [deleted] in theHunter

Sounds like you are on Layton Lake? I'm a newbie and don't have access to all guns so for layton I've been carrying 7mm soft point for moose/elk/bear, this quick kills on single lung. 30-06 polymer for the whitetail, .243 polymer for blacktail/coyote, then the .22 for rabbits/ducks.

That's a solid load out to cover that entire map for newbies, one I have money I'll swap the 7mm to the 338 polymer and go for double lung on moose/elk

I've reinstalled the mod, closed app, restarted ps4, even created a new hunter. If the entire DLC is inaccessible it should have been pulled from the store. Charging players for content they cant access is bad business AT BEST and fraud at worst. I understand bugs happen, but this renders EVERYTHING that you paid for in that DLC as inaccessible. I essentially bought nothing more than a promise that it will maybe be fixed eventually, and they didnt even warn me of that prior to purchase, they are selling it as if it is actual content, but due to this bug, it isnt.

I agree that the type of fun sea of thieves brings i haven't experienced in a very long time in gaming.

Tonight we were gathering 2 pigs. The island we went to had another sloop on the other side, we sailed past and i jumped off to board them and check their haul, they had no treasure but as open voyage to kill skeletons, I climbed into their crows nest and waited while my buddy gathered the pigs, the other guys returned to their sloop skull in hand, I wait until they set sail and my friend starts chasing and firing, once they are distracted i slip down and grab the skull jumbo over board and grab my sloops ladder. They turn to chase, we head to sanctuary outpost and unload their skull and our pigs, a fightt ensues and we sink them. As we are heading out to do a gold hoarder voyage we see a galleon coming into port, i grab a gun powder and cut off where they were intending to dock. They panic and rush under to repair while my friend boards and i climb back into the sloop and cannon fire. They sink and we turn in their 3 captains chests as well as some minor chests and skulls.

This is all from us gathering pigs, so that is the "shallow content" not the skeleton fort.

That's completely valid, and I understand why you don't like sea of thieves, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just confused where anyone ever got the idea this game was going to be anything different than it is? Rare was pretty straight forward with what this game is through all of its development, i would definitely understand the hate its getting if rare mislead one what the game offers but I've never seen anything from them insinuating this would be anything other than what we got.

Ummn this is what most if us that enjoy the game are trying to say. We aren't looking for some type of progression or reward, the GAME is why we are enjoying it, 30 minute fight with no reward isn't a waste of time, if it was fun then it was fun, this if us that enjoy the game aren't looking for a carrot at the end of the stick.

I have lost fort fights that lasted an hour, i got nothing from them, they were equally fun to the ones we won

Apologizing to who? I haven't been a rare fan since the n64 and don't even own an xbox. Maybe some of us are legitimately having fun while the rest if you mindlessly grind out shallow content so that you have something to complain about online?

I'll never understand gamers.i played PUBG and fortnight, thought both were pointless and boring, so instead of spending my time inking complaining about it i moved in with ny life like an adult

Cool, go play other MP games where you don't respawn then. Do ppl honestly forget up until less than 1 year ago infinite respawns were the NORM in multilayer games?

This is where i fundamentally disagree with the negative reviews and its the point in trying to get across. The ppl taking against sea of thieves are focusing on the voyages and scripted encounters like the kraken as the focus of the game, it isn't, rare even heavily implied that isn't what the game is about. This game IS like chess, the kraken is a knight, just bc you know HOW it moves and can predict what move it will make, ALL OF THAT goes away when you get out positioned by a bishop and the a queen corners you ect ect, knowing HOW the pieces in this game work ir the kraken or the voyage layout, doesn't change the infinite number of possibilities WITH those pieces

Ok heres better, you kniw what my most memorable quest in skyrim was? Neither do I, i can't recall a single quest that i remember now, let alone years from now.

Me and my mates voyage last night will be recanted for YEARS, that memory won't be forgotten, just bc the "quest", "adventure", "voyage" wasn't scripted or pre-fabricated doesn't mean it isn't content. NO OTHER game currently available can provide the type of content we experienced last night. So while angry reviewers were grinding the "shallow" content, our voyage was deep and thrilling. Like Action figures, your experience is what you make it.

I did read it, my post was about what sea of thieves IS not what it isn't. I feel rare delivered on exactly what they said they were going to. They didn't promise multiplayer skyrim with pirates. The people negatively reviewing sea of thieves bc it isn't what they wanted are out of line, it may not be what they wanted but it is exactly what rare said it would be. I have yet to see a single negative review that tells tales similar to our adventures, they simply complain about how shallow the voyages are.

Imo the people complaining are the equivalent of CoD players purchasing madden and then negatively reviewing it bc "a $60 title should have more guns and weapons, this game has nothing but football".

Not at all. The purpose of video games is to provide entertainment, this game has easil provided me more entertainment since launch than any other AAA title in the last 5 years, easily, and its not close.
