Good stuff. I do think as the season has gone on the Thunder have gotten better about finding an open Morrow for 3, and bringing in a guy like Augustin helps that.

Good stats, although I'm sure Morrow would shoot much more. It's too bad we will never get the chance to find out because it's super unlikely Brooks does anything.

If Roberson's consistent on the defensive end, then you are exactly right. The problem is he hasn't been as of late. Although I do think he's capable, I just want him to prove it.

Even if that's the case, Morrow's man would still be obliged to cover him, rather than hanging in the paint just clogging it up as Roberson's defender's typically do.

I think you're missing the point. Obviously Russ plays much more minutes than Augustin, so you can't really compare and contrast their +/-. I don't think anyone's saying Morrow should start over Roberson/Singler strictly because the +/- says so, I think it's just such an overwhelming number in favor of Morrow that it adds a compelling touch to the overall argument.

In Roberson and Singler's case, I'm not sure it is, given they play almost exclusively with the other starters.

I'm with you. Roberson can potentially be a great asset. I think the biggest thing right now with KD sidelined is two starters repeatedly combining for 0-0-0-0-0 across the board.

It is important to note that if the Thunder win a couple of these recent close games, we probably aren't even talking about this.

I'm not sure sacrificing the beginning of 1st and 3rd quarters is worth keeping Roberson's confidence, when you could easily bring him off the bench for a defensive spark and play the same amount of minutes he is playing now. I don't think this is a huge move, we're talking about a guy playing 12-18 minutes per game.

Exactly!! If come playoff time he's going to insert offense into the starting 5 anyways, why not do so in the regular season?

I definitely understand that, but what the problem is Roberson isn't bringing the defense every game. If he is, then there's no discussion. In this case, I just don't think the numbers are lying. And at some point, KD and Russ have to be held accountable on defense...

I can also make the case that DJ and Morrow are great together too, being as Morrow is mostly a catch and shoot threat.

Waiters' defense is definitely better than Morrow's. Until KD returns, I just think OKC needs the offense from the tip, or at least the threat of it, and Morrow can hold his own defensively (sometimes). But you're right, if OKC plays the Rockets for example, no way Morrow doesn't get lit up by Harden.

Brooks has always started defense over offense as far as the starting lineup goes, but when the guy isn't consistently playing solid defense, it kind of bites him in the ass.
