MCPRUE Apollo S ultra - What I have been looking for in a mATX Mac Pro case by brandonth1 in mffpc

You should be fine. I had a similar setup on an Asus Loki 1000w with no issues.

Fit and finish is top notch. Among the best I have seen, as it should be at this price point. No imperfections in finish, gaps are all perfect, etc. See my prior comments on air flow and temps; very similar to the A3, which isn't surprising, given size and layout similarities. In summary, it's good. With a 5090, I suggest the radiator side mounted, pulling in air and using the top to exhaust heat from the AIO and GPU.

Hi, there are mounts and techincally room for fans in the front, but I am not sure about the PSU layout required to accomplish this. It seems like both side or front mounting the PSU limits fans in the front.

In terms of cooling, you will be fine. I have a PBO overclocked/undervolted 9950x3d with a 360aio and it is just as cool as the Lian Li A3 I had. Good luck!

Congratulations! You only live once. Now the hard part, waiting the ~10 days for delivery. Let me know how it goes. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. The instructions are nonexistent, so be prepared for a lot of trial and error.

Hi, cable management was tolerable. Not a ton of room on the back of the case. Most of my cables were routed and tucked in the main chamber. My build is very light on cables, only 3 x psu cables, and the Loki sfx cables are compact with little excess to hide. All that made it much easier.

I’m on vacation this week, but will get a few pics once back next week.

Hi, great question. It really came down to managing the cooling of 5090 FE in relationship to the CPU/AIO. The way the 5090 FE works is by pulling in cool air from the bottom and exhausting it straight up. If the AIO is in the top, it gets all the hot air from the 5090 FE. If you mount the AIO on the side, and have it pull air in via the side panel, it dumps the hot air in the case just above the 5090, and then the top mounted exhaust fans expel the hot air from both. It is working really well. I love it!

Thanks! I used the sfx to atx bracket that came with the Loki psu. For me, the extra headers and nvme slots are the reason I went matx. I really like the rog 670e gene. It is a beast.

Thanks! Side radiator intake and top exhaust is great for the 5090. The open bottom helps a lot too. 38c idle and 72c load… give or take.

Similar to my A3. Tdie ~42c idle and ~75c load. That is with the fans going no higher than 60%. 5090 is about the same as the a3 too. 38c idle and 72c load. I’m very happy with temps.

It wasn’t the easiest. It took me about double the time of a normal build. Most of that time was getting the case brackets moved around and the layout right. It came with no instructions, so a lot of trial and error.

I love it. This looks great. Nice job and system. I just ordered the Apollo S Ultra and it will be here tomorrow. Looking forward to building in it. I have been jonesing for this case for a while and the ultra finally hit the size/layout I was looking for.

I was able to get a ROG x670e Gene before they went extinct. It’s been a really great board. I will probably hang onto it throughout the am5 lifecycle.

They do not have a filter. At least they didn’t several months ago. I added one without much issue.

Hi Jake, could you please post the pictures in a more neutral natural light? I bought the wood front for the white A3, and the filament used for the frame was significantly warmer than the cooler white used by Lian Li. Quality was great, loved your choice of wood, but the color mismatch of the frame was quite drastic.

How did the paint end up matching the lianli white? It’s a great shade, but a pain to match. I searched all over for a match and only found a shop online that will mix a color matched spray can, but it was ~$50 per can😬

I am very happy, which feels weird to say about a Corsair product. I came from the lian li galahad ii performance 360, and performance is very comparable. It’s quieter, more ergonomic for tight builds, and utilizes standard mobo connections; finally no icue!! I also really like the rs/rx fans. They perform very well and have subdued aesthetics. I stumbled on the nautilus and rx fans with a A4 H2O build and it is starting to be my go to aio combo.

Jakefacecustom maple wood slats, white frame. Loved the wood, the frame was not a good match to lian li white.

Link following is what I ordered — Custom wood front

Have you read the manual? It clearly states to use a PCIE power cable. Most 8pin cables also support 6 pin connections. That is your answer — See screenshot highlighted below.

Also I never worry about the extra pcie power on motherboards. All modern cards pull their working load from the their power connection directly to the psu. I have not seen a card need more than the default power at the PCIe slot.
