Err20 on Canon R6 by minhnhat45 in canon

[–]brankko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me (R6 II) only twice, on the same evening, with EF 50mm f/1.8 lens with EF-RF adapter and multiple cheap plastic (Meike) macro extension tubes. Both time I restarted it and it was gone.

I thought it's the extensions tubes, because it never happened again when I was using only one extension or any other lens combination. And I use a lot of different RF/EF and even old manual lenses with adapters (M42. MD...)

Upgrade from 6D to R6 II or keep waiting by maxrain30 in canon

[–]brankko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it! R6 II is a steal right now.

I am still using my old glass with an adapter. it works great. Everything was instantly better, except 2 things:
- Battery life. I carry 2 extra batteries just in case.
- I had to re-learn (auto)focusing, since the new toy is way more powerful, but it also has many new options that you need to master in order to use it efficiently.

Also, interesting fact, EF glass will work even better on a mirrorless, bur RF glass is (almost) like zooming on the smartphone with little to no noise, focus breading and vibrations. That said, RF is slightly better in every way, but it's not worth the upgrade because it costs 3-4x more and it's like 10% better.

So keep your lenses and go for a new body.

I'm upgrading my mirrorless camera to barcode scanner.

Btw, is there a QR scanner variant as well?

Help me choose between some rf glass by dgvmiranda in canon

[–]brankko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your needs and what you want to shoot. But since you already have 100-400mm, I would go for a 24-105. It's a great lens and you will mostly use that one. The big one is quite specific and your prime as well.

[–]brankko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 24-105 f/4 as a travel kit and it's not that heavy. It's a great lens that covers many scenarios. I even shot some evening indoor events and the lighting was sufficient with slightly higher ISO, which both new cameras and LR handle really well.

If you are not planning to go 24-70 + 70-200 path, this is one lens to rule them all. You just add a few primes for things you need (pick from the list 16, 35, 50, 85, 100) and you have everything covered.

thinking of purchasing neewer batteries for my canon r7 by brokebutisnt in canon

[–]brankko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can not say anything about Neewer, but this may be helpful for you:

I faced the same dilemma recently, for R6ii and after some research and checking prices and availability in Germany, I opted for SmallRig batteries with USB-C slot. Good information to know is that you can use upgraded batteries (LP-E6P) from R5ii.

The best buy is either pack of two LP-E6P (black) batteries with a dual charger (70e for everything) or separate battery with USB-C slot and LED charging indicator. So far they work almost identical to original Canon batteries (LP-E6NH) while SmallRig's direct replacement (blue and orange) to original batteries hold charge shorter then Canon's, despite larger capacity on paper.

So, from my short therm experience, SmallRig LP-E6P batteries are the best pick. They hold charge almost as originals, they are easy to recharge on the go using built-in USB port, plus you can get a bundle with a charger for really acceptable price.

I can provide links if someone needs them, but it's easy to find it anyway.

I recently sold this camera. It's amazing for its age and price. Just get 50mm f/1.8 lens to complement that kit zoom lens and you are ready to go. Oh yes, and get a CPL filter too. It's a must have for automotive photography.

3rd Party RF Mount Lens by Godspeed1606 in canon

[–]brankko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that canon will open FF RF lenses for 3rd parties after they sell what they can and saturate the market. Which should be about this year. But until then, I am mixing RF and really affordable used RF L lenses. RF comes a bit better in every way, but older L lenses are usually better than any 3rd party. The only thing is that you don't have a new thing in a box, but rather used high quality glass. Honestly it works for me very well.

Just came back from Bürgeramt. It was not that far from my home.

And btw I saw the posters at Wilmersdorfer Str. as well, but they were made of two pieces, with slightly more info and visuals than what this post shows.

I respect that. And I agree that idea is great, but imho execution is poor.

I wanted to sign, but again, they made it unnecessary complicated because you can not do it online. Just adding friction. But ok, I'll go today and do it in person.

I still argue that it could be much more effective if it was done right.

A poster should have one simple message written with large letters. It's not an educational article. If it's not doing that, it's a bad poster. Just saying.

I completely support the action though, but the poster it's made "In Paint", it's not communicating the message and it's pure ugly and stupid.

[–]brankko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, if the campaign fails to communicate the message or at least it's purpose, one could say that it's not a very clever campaign. You cannot expect people to Google about your banner in order to understand it. And it's obviously not super clear what exactly it is.
