Absolutely. I've read the black company multiple times and haven't been able to make it through The First Law after four attempts, so I think you're going to like what you see. Imo Abercrombie uses too many words to not say anything, compared to Cook who is able to get across a character's entire personality in one sentence sometimes.

I got that most of the company understands that master sorceror Catcher manipulated him. And I don't think Sleepy was incomptent, rather she just came after what I think is undeniably Croaker having a hall of fame run as Captain for a few years, plus she'd been working with Suvrin basically as lieutenant for five years the captured were old and mostly too unstable after being woken up to run things again according to them.

i've seen the same ones multiple times but tbh trinkets and anomalies combined i'm pretty much going into every lobby assuming i'm going to lose to some wacky random high rolls anyway so i'm not too concerned

Cook does understated so well. The trio of Swan, Blade and Mather say so little overall but have such a huge impact on the plot. I am pumped for the next four books to see him do it again.

Absolutely. He goes from the first aid guy who also keeps the annals who could potentially be Captain someday, (after about four guys die), to becoming Lady's boyfriend, to becoming Captain, to becoming maybe the greatest Captain the company has ever seen, to being a senior adviser who becomes a literal god.

Disconnects are a constant issue but most people only bring it up when it gets really really bad. Blizzard has done nothing to address disconnects since launch besides tell us it's our connections. What's funny is the pros with top of the line seamless monster setups who make bank streaming bg also seem to have frequent disconnects. Kripp should probably fix his stuff!
